Hello demonicwolfz, I’m Newf from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question.
Using the standard rule of thumb of floor area + 10%, the quantity you will need comes out to 4 cases exactly. This will mean 8 tiles across the 12’ wall and 8 tiles across the 11’ wall. 8x8=64 tiles or 4 cases.
If your walls are square and your cuts perfect this will work out.
If it were me I would buy 5

I see that these do not have a pad. I am afraid they will not feel comfortable to stand on for very long. Is there a pad of any type that I can put down before I put these down?

Answer:
It's not recommended to put anything underneath them. They're very thin and will slide if they're not stuck to the concrete directly. In fact, they're so thin that you'll be replacing the higher traffic squares regularly, so you won't want them sticking to any padding.

Answer:
Hello Susan and thank you for your question.
You should install the TrafficMaster Espresso Hobnail Indoor/Outdoor Carpet Tiles on a floor that is dry, clean, and smooth. The indoor/outdoor carpet would not provide a suitable bonding surface for the tile and you should consider removing the carpet before installing the tiles.
Best wishes with your project.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT IS A NON-RETURNABLE ITEM! At least I got a store credit. I have looked all over this product's page and I cannot find anywhere that it says "non-returnable". AGAIN, IT IS AN ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE PRODUCT. DO NOT BUY! July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So easy to install wish I had replaced my carpet sooner! I wish I had replaced my carpet sooner! These carpet tiles were so easy to install and look fabulous. I replaced the carpet on my front porch with these indoor/outdoor carpet tiles and couldn't be happier. The carpet itself is very durable, it looks great. I completed the whole room in one evening and it was a very affordable option. What I like best is, if you do get a stain or damage a square, you just pull it up and put down a new one, you don't have to replace the entire carpet. Great for high traffic areas. February 11, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good cost effective way to update basement The carpet squares were easy to install - it freshened up the look in my basement without spending a lot of money. Will probably do more in the basement as I have time. June 10, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and easy to install... Added these carpet tiles over a concrete floor and it worked great. I did purchace the glue thinking I would need it. Used it once and it made a mess. So far the tiles have stayed in place and endured ALOT of people/animals foot steps. The pattern was super easy to follow and I installed 600sqf of it myself in two days. Great buy and the color is better in person than on the web site. August 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent We installed the carpet tiles over existing ceramic tiles in our sunroom. The carpet tiles have have warmed the room both in looks and feel. I would highly recommend them. January 4, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very thin, very light, very cheap. Very thin. You can see right through them. When they were delivered, I thought "Oh, just 4 boxes?" Then I picked up the boxes and they were incredibly light. When I opened the boxes I was very disappointed. I returned them to the store. These are not recommended for installation where people might WALK. There's a 3 Star review on here that details my fears. The price may be good, but it's not a good deal by any stretch. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great for lanai Instead of replacing the indoor/outdoor carpet on my lanai with rolled carpet as I have done twice previously, I decided to try carpet tiles. Delivered to the house and so much easier to install. No need to have a friend with truck pickup and then help carry and maneuver on lanai. Also much easier to trim an individual piece with scissors than crawling around with a carpet knife. The pieces adhered well to the painted concrete floor. Yes the pieces are lightweight and kind of see through, but look fine once on the floor. It feels no different underfoot than the rolled carpet. When a section gets ruined from rain or dogs, I have left over pieces that I can replace with instead of the whole carpet. Only time will tell how well the carpet tiles hold up. While I wouldn't put these in my house, they are a good choice for the lanai. April 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Looks can be deceiving I used this for a playroom that had old broken linoleum tiles with a plywood floor underneath. We didn't want to use a wall to wall carpet - it was too expensive and I loved the idea of replacing a tile square if need be. When these first arrived - I was going to send them back - you really can see right through them - but - we pushed on. There are arrows on each square representing on the direction it should face - we followed their pattern and it really does look good! I am very impressed with the finished product. The room has a new paint job and the new carpeting all for under $500! It looks FABULOUS! I highly recommend them and I would use them again. October 18, 2011
