Customer Questions & Answers

The label says 9' at top and 6' in description. Which is it? Any way to get smaller quantity. I need about 10% of this roll.

Asked by: Anonymous
believe the 6' is referring to the diameter of the roll. I remember seeing you can order it in 9 or 10 foot height. if you only have a little that is over 9', you should be able to overlap it (like siding or roofing shingles).

Can this be used for

We bought a old mobile home, its ours paid for no one can take it away. So with the age of the mobile home, it is not energy efficient, so we are going to remodel it and get it up to todays energy efficient standards. I will wrap the entire exterior in the wrap. question is, will this product work underneath the mobile home? Would we need to do the roof as well or in the small attic? Thank You
Asked by: Catch22
Don't see why not. For the top of the roof, I recommend caulking cracks, and buying a 5 gallon bucket of the white roofing material. apply it like paint on a clean dry roof, that is warm to the touch (not hot). Wait a few days, put on 2nd coat. around the vents, apply a 3rd coat. Should last for years.

any house wraps come in black or dark color?

Asked by: weezy
The Typar is charcoal on the inside, and silver grey on the outside. I don't believe it comes in other colors. Tyvek is white, but not as heavy duty, In ordinary home application either should work , but I use it as a main rain and wind barrier on cheaply built sheds and to enclose awnings, so need the extra quality.

Customer Reviews

9 ft. x 150 ft. Housewrap Roll is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from used it as siding, lasted 15 years I built a 20 x 24 shed in the back yard, wrapped it using Typar. I had planned on putting on siding, but kept putting it off due to the cost. I moved, and since it was not a permitted structure, tore it down. After more than 15 years, the Typar was as good as the day I installed it. It had not gotten damaged due to UV, cold or heat. It was not brittle, as I would have expected. A large fir tree branch had blown into it, causing a 2" hole, otherwise it was perfectly intact.. At my new property, there is an awning which I am in process of enclosing, and yes, I will be using Typar. I went to Home Depot, and looked, but saw only Tyvek, it felt thinner and weaker. Not sure why the store doesn't carry Typar in stock, but I am glad to find I can order it. It does cost more (guess you get what you pay for). But since I'm not a contractor ordering large quantities, the extra is well worth it to me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Best house wrap on the market. Perm rate is at the perfect level. Have used higher perm rate products and had Solar driven moisture problems especially behind brick. Typar is best by far.
