After reading the reviews I was sure this stove was for us. I shopped around quite a bit before making my decision. This stove puts out much more heat than our old stove. We live at 8300 ft. in Colorado and needed a stove that would work well and put out heat. Although I installed it in August we had unusually cold and damp weather. The temp got down to the low 40's so we turned on the stove in the morning and were very pleased. However, the exhaust pipe on the back of the stove is in-set. Therefore you will need a 4" extension to attach to your tee. Also, it is cast iron so you'll have to seal it well with high temp silicone-no metal screws. Also, the fans are noisy. But, we would rather have the heat. You can override the fan settings. Great price-can't beat it!

Stove looks good... and then it doesn't work. I purchased this stove last year thinking it was a good deal. I looked at the reviews online and thought that will work for what I need. I installed it with the out side air kit, and it still has had nothing but issues. The burn pot fills up with un burned material in less than a day. You have to dump the burn pot each time you want to light it, by hand. That is wait for it to cool, open it up and dump the pot, then clean under the pot and put it all back together. If I run it over night it will fill up the pot. The glass is always black and needs cleaning. I wish I would have spent the extra money and got a better stove. Oh and now a year later I need a new blower fan at 360 something dollars. that is 1/4 the price of the stove. Not a good buy not a good stove keep looking.

OK yeah it was a emotional purchase I guess, I really wanted a pellet stove to replace propane heating and thought it looked like a good price and it was available at the time. I should have waited for a stove with a quieter fan and external thermostat connections after reading the reviews but figured I'd get by with it.
Worked great for 1-1/2 days, then Saturday morning it locked me out of the control board, just emitting a 'beep', then a pause in operation, and resume- I couldn't turn it off or change any settings! I called customer service in a panic thinking I would either have to let it burn out or unplug it and take chance on filling the house with smoke. Fortunately the nice lady on the phone advised me to just open the hopper lid and shut down the auger to 'save the day!'. OK, that worked and I unplugged it after it cooled down and was able to restart it ok, but then it did the same thing so I used it the rest of the day on low or shutting it down each time by opening the hopper lid.
Sunday morning, I turned it on once more to warm up the house an catch another 40 winks in bed. When I got up about 1/2 hour later, I was shocked to see the stove still burning, but all the fans were silent! The display was flashing on and off now with no control. Time to unplug.
US Stove agreed to send out a new control board that I could change myself, but it took 2-3 days to get the required receipt and SN submitted, but then another day or two to get it shipped out UPS Ground :-(. Unfortunately with the Thanksgiving Holiday I WON'T have the board in time for the holiday but the Saturday after. If it had shipped a day or two sooner using USPS priority mail it would have been here a week sooner.
Oh, and don't try to align the flue centered vertically with the thermocouple in back for the thermostat as my installer did, it makes the thermostat setting feature useless due to adjacent heating from the flue. I guess I would have pulled the stove out another 6" or more to get better clearance.
Kind of chilly in the house today, anticipating another~$300 propane bill this month!

Really like the style of this stove. The controls are easy to use. Heats well.
The hopper only holds 45lbs so the burn time is only approx 10 hrs. The fan noise is a little loud but I'm getting used to it.

Well, I really looked around for pellet stoves. Every store here in So Cal want more then 3K for a unit that would heat my 1500 square foot A frame house. Its an open ceiling clear to the roof in the living room, and I was quite unsure whether any pellet stove would suit my needs of wanting to get out of another tremendous winter propane expense.
It came the day that they said it would, and I installed it a month ago in preparation for the cold. Sure enough last week we had a cold front come through that put the outside temp at 43 degrees, and that was the test.
Although it took the stove a while to get heated up, It kept the inside temp on this old house at 70 degrees on the lowest setting. Needless to say IM IMPRESSED!. I only burned a half a bag of pellets in those 10 hours, and because Im a little new at this, I cleaned it out the next day. There was only a sprinkling of ash in the ash pan (maybe a half a teaspoon), and it was easy peasy to vacuum out everything else. Took about 3 minuets.
Im still a new pellet stove owner, and things could still go wrong. But for me this stove was almost half price from what others wanted, and for now I couldn't be happier with the way that it works.

I bought this stove 4 years ago and have replaced both blowers (one twice), doors (one day they will fit I suppose)and sundry accessories. It is loud but new blowers help for a season or so. It has clinker issues no matter what pellets I use. On the plus side it does generate heat as advertised and customer support are quite good. I'm looking for a replacement next season.

When we first hooked up our pellet stove, it was very loud, called the company, explained the situation, and within a week we had a new convection blower, installed it last night and what a difference, so far so good, will keep you informed on performance as cold season approaches, thank you US Stove Company
