Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AJ10 Very Nice Stair Railing!
My Husband just got done installing these. We ordered 6 and all of them were in great condition. We had no issues installing, but with that said, they are not like the deck railings sold in store, as these are Not put together and though easy enough to do and the enclosed instructions are easy to follow, you would need some level of handyman skills to get it done. They look of great quality to me and all my neighbors love them. We choose to glue the top rail on and not to use the enclosed screws as the deck railing tops that match are glued and wanted a consistent look. A++++++

We did not have any of the problems described by the other reviews. The pictures I have posted show the color match between these stair railings and the straight rails available in the stores. I do not recommend the Lightning rail though - as the pickets are flat and do not match this railing's profile. The wood matches the straight rails well. We had several problems with delivery, so I do recommend delivering the rails to the store, and verifying the rails at the store before taking them home. For instance, these are stair rails and all of the holes for the pickets are in fact at an angle. We received the straight rail package erroneously at first, which has 90 degree holes - this is wrong. These stair rails are angled and ready for installation. They are difficult to install though and require a handyman. Not for the beginner. Worth the work though. They are beautiful. I posted a photo showing the stair rails set against the coordinating straight rails so that you can see the profiles and colors.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mrduramax great time saver
added a rough cut open beam covered deck to my cabin product is very nice looking and goes with the overall look very well, instructions are straight foreward and assembly was very easy the only thing that was a problem were the screws that attach the two top rails together are to long they came through the top caught this on first rail used shorter ones that i had and they went together great.

First, have it shipped to the store if you decide to purchase this railing. That way you can refuse it when the ends of them are smashed. UPS just leaves them on your porch. I ordered two sets. One of them didn't have the top rail mitered. Since I was trimming that was more of a pain than anything. One side the holes weren't drilled in the center for the spindles. Being kilned dried after treating didn't help much either. Three of the four rails (2 upper and 1 lower) were not very straight. I had to use clamps just to get them to sit in the top rail and screw them together. If you are not very handy, stay away. If you don't mind reworking them, they do look nice when completed.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by karie3271 Needed the stair railing kit to match regular railing we bought from Home Depot
I don't like how we had no choice other than to order online in order to be able to get the stair railing to match the regular railing they already sell in store, which mean't we had to put it together but my husband handled that with no trouble at all.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Larry Deceptive title. It leads you to believe you are getting the same red tone wood as the deck railings.
The DECK railings of the same make, with the same design and using the same balusters come in the RED tone treated wood. These STAIR railings come in GREEN treated wood.
The GREEN treated wood cannot be used and painted over because the treatment will not allow it. Why are these stair railings made with a different wood product? They should be made to match the railings you sell in the store. This is just plain dumb.
I bought the stair railings but I cannot use them. There is not even an option to get the railings in RED tone versus GREEN. Get your act together on this or get a supplier that will. Heck, give them the RED treated wood and have them make some out of that!
How frustrating it is because I cannot finish my project.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cyma610 Wood and aluminum railing.
This railing comes in a box and is not assembled as pictured. In general, this is not a problem because once you get measurements established where you want it, it goes together fairly easily. My only comment is that the stain didn't soak in as nicely as the posts we used with it. I would still recommend this railing. HUGE advantage is that the spindles are black aluminum - means less long-term maintenance! Also, because of the black aluminum and staining (as opposed to a white vinyl fence) the railings don't jump out at you so the house is the first thing you see and not the distracting white. (This is a personal preference.)
