The packet does not tell you how much to apply per pot. I also have window boxes which have flowers that need fertilizing. I bought the Vigoro fertilizer for flowers. Same question. How much ( eg., 1 tsp) and how often. And how often should I water after I apply the fertilizer.

Answer:
Start off slow because if you add too much you can burn the pots and window boxes. I would start off using one tablespoon per pot/window box. Water when you feel the soil becoming dry. Right after you fertilize water more often.

While you probably are looking for more specific instructions, that is hard to give. The size of the plant, how often its watered, and where its placed all play a part in how much fertilizer it needs. It's a bit of trial and error (less error hopefully). Just remember less is better than too much and it's best to go easy with potted plants since the fertilizer is more contained. Read Less

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 3.5 LB Rose Plant Food It is really rewarding to see the roses add new foliage and blooms after giving them a treatment of the rose plant food. It is delayed release so the roses look good for several months. October 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great I have been using Vigoro rose food for years and it never disappoints. It's easy to use and doesn't have a strong chemical smell like other plant food. My roses love it. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gives Me Constant Roses This Vigoro Rose Food works like a charm. I planted four Julia Child Roses in the flower bed off my front porch over a year ago. About every two months I sprinkle about two handfuls around the outer foilage line of each plant. I literally have countless roses at all times. The only con about this product is all the time I spend deadheading the old roses. June 11, 2013
