Customer Questions & Answers

How do you wind the hose back into the pot?

Asked by: Libby
Start with the hose closest to the pot and lay it in as close to the inside of the walls as possible, then continue winding it upon itself. With a little practice, the hose "learns to conform" and it gets easier. It usually fits in neatly as long as you use the recommended hose length. I have 4 of them and enjoy them pretty well. I would also recommend drilling a few large holes in the bottom and bottom sides for rainy season.

Customer Reviews

Viper Hose Pot is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's OK We bought this pot because we needed a hose holder but didn't want to drill holes into our stucco, since we rent. It's OK. It's a pretty design and looks great when you open it out of the box. However, once it gets wet (as it will if you are using a hose around it), its spots REALLY bad. The spots turn grey/brown and makes it look cheap. I realize it's not true copper, but I've spray painted exterior stuff with copper spray paint, and that stuff holds up better than the finish they used for this. We also have a lightweight hose, and each time we uncoil it, the pot ends up knocking over as we move along our yard to water. Kinda annoying. Honestly, this is way overpriced for what you get. Would return it, but it looks pretty bad now, and all the other pots are just as expensive. I'll probably re-paint it with exterior spray paint so it looks a little better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice for the price I think this item is okay for the price you pay, as I had been searching for a while. and would not have paid some of the high prices that I saw for this kind of product. One thing I will mention is that when I put the center piece on, it scraped the copper finish off the other part. Because the "scraped" part does not show I wasn't too worried about it, but was a bit surprised and thought I should mention it. I like the look of this item, but am a bit worried because after one unexpected summer rain it has already rusted a little. Will recommend mainly because of the cost and the look, otherwise maybe not.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Viper Hose Pot - poor quality I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews. The pot arrived with not much padding at all. Thus, a dent in it. Looks cheap. Returned it the same day.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice looking but cheap The pot has a nice finish look to it but once I took it out of the box it has several dents in it that had to be popped out. Once I fixed the dents, the center stem snapped off at the first attempt to put a hose in it. The quality is poor but its not a bad buy if you don't mind not having a center stem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality. Not recommended I'm definitely not happy with this purchase. The picture looks really nice, but the actual pot does NOT look like this. The color looks like cheap copper colored spray paint, the welds are shoddy, and the "texturizing" just makes it look beat up. Also, the pot is very lightweight and tips over easily when using the hose. Would definitely not purchase this again, and would be very leery of anything from this company without seeing it in person.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Viper Holder The hose holder arrived on time, actually early. It was packed very well, but when we took it out it had several dents on the sides. Not sure how this happened as well as it was packed with bubble wrap, etc . I will not send back, Will try to bump the dents out tomorrow. If I cant get rid of the dents. No big deal, it ads character to the copper.. Havent put the hose in yet, but sure it will be fine, as we only plan on putting a short house 50 ft in the holder. Overall satisfied. But obviously no to happy with UPS as Im sure they were throwing it around, thus the dents.. I did see another review regarding dents also.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Insert does not fit. Lovely pot. However, the insert is not usable, as the cylinder that it supposed to fit over the cylinder at the bottom (for coiling hose) is the same diameter and can't slide down. We finally just used a mallet to remove the cylinder at the bottom, as it was very sharp, and just put the coiled hose inside the pot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice looking hose pot We bought two of these hose pots and are generally satisfied with them. They hold the hoses and look good doing it. They are light weight so pulling the hose out while working in the yard tends to rock and tip the pot rather than get you more hose. The best solution has been to unload as many hose coils as we need so there is minimal pulling. Overall happy with the product.
