Questions & Answers

what pressure initiates flow?

A spring closes the valve to prevent back-flow. This spring must be compressed to open the valve for forward flow. How much forward pressure must be applied for the valve to open? You can get a qualitative idea by blowing into the valve: if it's easier than inflating a balloon then it's only a few psi..
Asked by: joePlumber
