Q:Does it come with the rubber gasket
by|Feb 28, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  If the rubber gasket you refer to is the hose gasket, no it does not include those. They are usually a component of the flexible WM connectors. There are rubber O-Rings between the valve body and the two adapter elbows.

Q:I have one of these and it is rusted and leaking from below the lever.. Can I replace this with just screw removal? (Replacing the section that is leaking below the screws and lever - or do I need to replace the entire thing?

Q:What is the size of the o-rings that attach the main body to the sweat-on L adapters? I accidentally misaligned, pinched, and cut one during install. It's barely holding together now, but I'm afraid if I take it apart to measure the o-ring, it'll leak.

Q:I?m missing the handle to turn the water on. Can I replace it with a screw or bolt ? Or just buy the handle?

        Answer This Question

A:  Doubt they sell just a handle part. Notceasyvto getcwatts psrts and they are overpriced. If u can get a long bolt with oversized head to grip maybhelp. Tried calling watts because the shutoff leaked after a year..they were no help. Product isnt reliable or long lasting

I was replacing an original from 20 years ago. It looked like it was a permanent fixture within the plastic wall mount. Replacement of the value mechanism is not. With the help of a youtube 3 minute lesson, it was a 5 minute repair for a not very talented DIY guy.

This is a direct replacement of the valve I have for the washing machine. The store associate assistance was great!! My valve was leaking badly and associate said I should be able to replace just the handle part and be back in "business" in no time and have a good weekend. He was correct. Unscrewed the 2 screws on the old and the new -- presto -- works -- no leaks!! Albeit I could have replaced the o-rings on the old but the ones I got in an assorted pack were not the correct size and the trip to the store was 25 miles one way.

I installed this product to replace an existing set of 30 year old compression W/D valves. I am a skilled do-it-yourself person with the proper tools. Pros: Easy to remove sweated members from manifold so that valve and washers are not damaged during the braising process. Mounting tabs for screws to secure against back plate. No leaks first time without the need to over tightening stainless steel manifold screws.Confident on and off valve operation. Manifold accommodated slight rotation in final fit. No problems with flow and they have been in operation for 3 weeks. Cons: You must have both hoses on to purge lines (don't ask how I discovered that out). Clearances a little tight on the knuckles. Would not install in sheet-rocked wall.

          easy off and on
Had to replace an old gate valve setup for a washer that was leaking. I am super happy with this shut off valve. It is way easier to shut off and no worries of a leak easy to sweat in

Our 40+ year old Watts valve was corroded and leaking, and I expected to have to sweat new fittings onto the existing plumbing. This would have been difficult because the valve is in a location where it is VERY difficult to drain the system to allow sweating new fittings. Instead, I just removed the two "chrome" screws on the front of the valve, cleaned the contact areas of the existing fittings, and replaced the corroded valve body with the new one! Unbelievably, the new valve was the same dimensions and QUALITY of the 40+ year old valve, and fit perfectly. I secured the valve with the two new screws, attached the hoses, and I was done. This installation was so easy that I would happily have paid three times the price for the convenience. It was really great to see a product that was still the quality that it was 40 years ago. What a great company!!

Only really need to replace the valve section (old one was leaking 10+ years old) not the sweat fittings. Would be good if you could just replace washers/ gaskets. Pretty expensive for what it is.
