Add-on to any 3/4 in. hose connection. UPGRADE to the 50H. 3/4 in. special thread x 3/4 in. hose thread. The first ASSE 1052 approved automatic draining double-check backflow preventer. When a hose is removed from a Model 50 equipped wall faucet or yard hydrant, two linked but independent check valves automatically move as one to open a path through the valve allowing water to drain completely and prevent freezing.

Answer: 
Asse 1024 is a constant pressure back flow preventer and is usually placed in line before the hydrant. The Woodford Model 50 series is an ASSE 1052 approved double-check back flow preventer and is NOT intended for continuous pressure, per code, no more than 12 hours in a 24 hour period. Woodford yard hydrants are also NOT meant for continuous usage.

Backflow devices such as the Woodford 50H-BR will NOT allow water to flow backwards, even if the first check fails, the second one will not.
