Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wxray Rolls great... uses specific roller covers
Most mini rollers do not have a cage. The interior bar has no cage, it is just a bar. The roller cover has a pencil sized hole that fits in there. These work OK, but can easily get fouled with paint and tend to hang.
So, this little unique roller has a small frame inside. Nice. I had to try them back to back and sure enough, the cage version spins more freely. It has become my go-to mini roller. Sure, it comes in handy for the classic "behind the toilet" maneuver, but it also is just a nice little trim roller.
All this is great, but there's a caveat. The roller covers are quite specific. Right now at Home Depot, you'll only see Wooster brands. They cost a bit more. Beware of this. If you buy the mega-packs of the generics, they are likely of the non-frame variety. Maybe more manufacturers will go to this form factor. In any case, the cost is not that significant, but you need to be aware of it.
See pictures for a comparison.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Taken15 Some of the products are good, some have issues
I bought the 9 in. roller handle and a Wooster roller cover. Had to take it back because it clumped along with every bar across the roller. I tried a different product cover and the same. Took the 9 in. roller handle back. I had a 4 in roller mini. AWESOME and also can be used with the 6.5 in cover. I had the 6.5 inch roller but had to take that back because I could not get the cover off. When I took it back I tried the others hanging first so I knew it would come off, but they would not. Left at the store. Will stick with my fabulous Wooster 4 in. mini roller that works fine with the 6.5 inch cover. .

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by MathWins I was in love with the roller until............
I tried to remove the roller from the holder. I painted over two days, so I stored it wet, wrapped in saran wrap in the fridge until use the second day. It worked fine the second day, but when I tried to remove the roller I had a heck of a time getting it off. I finally did, and used it again, and had the same problem. Maybe if you removed it right after use, it would be easier to do, but I will never know. I threw it away. Too bad, because I loved how the paint looked with this roller.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tano you will find lots of uses for this mini handle
I have had great luck with Wooster products especially their roller handles and I use mini rollers for a lot of painting projects, from trim to finish work.
In this case I used the set up to paint behind large cast iron radiators in our home. The handle fit perfectly on a 4 foot roller extension handle I had and the size of the rollers was perfect for covering the wall and not hitting the radiators. I also painted som trim prior to installing it using this handle and it worked perfectly, the overall size was great and easy to handle, not like fumbling with a 9” roller set up. This handle was great for doing touch ups on a wall that had been scuffed after a delivery. You will find a lot of uses for a the smaller handle and the quality is far better than you will find at this price point.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Termie Works well, not sure on value
I used these along with the Wooster Mini Roller Covers to do some touch ups around the house. It worked very well, and is definitely easier to handle than a 9" roller, especially in tight spots. It also rolled very well, with a high-quality feel and plenty of control.
My one concern is that it seems this a proprietary roller - I got the Wooster brand covers because I wasn't sure, and of course they worked well, but just keep that in mind if you want a lot of choice in roller covers. That does add to the cost.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stephie Sturdy Roller Frame
I used this frame to complete the tile kit in my bathroom. The roller fits tight and secure and moves with ease even with the paint. It's a good idea to remove the roller after using it. This is a good sturdy roller frame that lets you glide through your painting project.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Artemis Good brand; nice products
I have the 9" roller (and posted a review). These are very nice rollers, easy to use, etc. If I ever need additional sizes, then I'll purchase a Wooster.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EightOfEight just the right size for small jobs
This is a nice little roller, with a comfortable rubber-grip handle. The cage frame seems to roll more smoothly than the frames that consist of just a single piece of metal. My only complaint is that I haven't been able to find a 1/4" nap roller cover that fit this unit.
