Does the tank come purged?

Can i see a pic with this tank next 2 a standard 20 lb tank
Asked by: BigPete
No you need to take it to someone who both fills and will purge the tank on its first fill. It does NOT come pre-purged.

Is this tank narrower then a 5 gallon tank?

I have limited space on my trailer tongue.
Asked by: Cc211
The tank I got is narrower than a 5 gal (20 lb) tank. You can get an 11 lb (2.6 gal) tank that is as wide as a 5 gal, but half as tall. I needed a narrow foot print.

Is the Tank Marked for securing in the laying down position?

I want to install it tank horizontally instead of upright vertically and want to know if it comes with instructions for that position? I noticed the picture of one of the other questions for this tank..the picture that was entered into a drawing..shows the tank laying down mounted on a golf cart...but if it was rotated incorrectly, the inner supply tube would get liquid instead of gas vapor wouldn't it? Thanks...and I love you
Asked by: Laray
All propane bottles must be positioned in the upright position when used. Having them on their side or upside down will allow liquid propane to be released. There may be special equipment that could be used to put the tank on its side, but I would check with your local gas company before attempting to use a propane bottle in any position except in the upright position.

It is what it is, a propane tank, but the one thing I would suggest to both Worthington and to potential customers is most propane tanks now have been "Pre-Purged" this tank is NOT. I had to go to two propane fillers to find someone who would purge it for its first fill which was a lot of wasted time. After that it does what it is supposed to do well.

I've had this produce for only a a few weeks and its seems to work just fine. The manufacturer, however, really does not make it clear how to "purge" the product prior to initial use. I learned that I had to purge new propane tanks through other channels and when I looked back at the packaging, sure enough, in very small type, Worthington, the manufacturer states the product needs to be purged. Well, what does that mean? There are a lot of confusing information on the net. I think it is the manufacturer's responsibility and make it clear to the consumer what needs to be done to use its product.

We have dual propane tanks on our trailer but when we want to move the little firepit around or a quick setup of the cook stove when the campground won't allow hooking to the RV connection. The price is certainly higher than the 20lb bottle but I am very happy we got this little guy for the portability!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Damaged propane tank I don't know if it was damaged in shipping or sent to me like that. The top of the tank was bent and warped looking. Pretty tough metal for that to happen on accident. Looks like it was run over by a large truck!
