We switched to the ZEP liquid septic tank treatment after using the powdered variety of septic tank treatment. The ZEP liquid is very simple to use, you just pour it in the toilet bowl and flush it down and it starts its job of breaking down the contents of the septic tank. No residual powdery mess in the toilet bowl, just one flush and its gone.
There's enough fluid to treat 1,000 gallons so if you have a 500 gallon septic tank, there's enough for two treatments here. We normally treat our septic tank once every 2-3 months as needed.
It is compatible with virtually all types of plumbing and most importantly, it is non toxic according to the material safety data sheet.

I used the 64 oz. bottle of Septic System and Cesspool Treatment as recommended by the manufacturer, I poured 32 ounces in the toilet and still have another 32 ounces to be used in 2 months. 2 equal treatments will achieve a prolonged septic system and cesspool treatment period. This product gives me greater long term security that the septic tank system won't overflow.

I mean this is a tough review to write. I have been using septic treatment for years. You add one half of a bottle of this product to your toilet water and flush. From there if everything is working right you never have to deal with a backed up septic system. Been there, done that and it really is not something you want to happen. So use this product every two months and that should prevent any trouble.

I have a septic system and large family which means I need to keep my system healthy and working efficiently. I have used powdered alternatives in the past to treat my septic. But I always disliked the power dust cloud that came with their use. This is a liquid form. Simply pour into the toilet, flush and done. No powder cloud to inhale. Easy to use. The bottle says it will last for 2 monthly treatments.

This advertises as a non-toxic formula that won't harm pipes. It is a large 64 oz. container, good for two treatments. Directions state flush down toilet every two months (32 oz. for a 1000 gallon septic tank.) The bacterial enzymes break down grease, paper, fats, proteins, and starches which will protect your system from backing up due to clogs. It is very expensive to dig a new drainfield so this product is worth buying.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mark As good as any
This is easy enough to pour into the system, and it may be better that the tablets, as I do not have to wait for it to dissolve. No odor , and no stains. If you have animals in the house that might get into the toilet, then flush a few times, as it is toxic. But toxic is a good thing for this product, so no complaints. If reasonably priced I may get it again.

This is a good way to keep yourself from dealing with a septic tank back up. Just a few bucks and under a minute's worth of work for saving myself that trouble is well worth it in my book.
Application is very easy - just flush it down the toilet. I flushed half down one toilet, and half down the other. It's supposed to be safe for all plumbing types too, so no worries figuring out if you've got cast iron, PEX, ABS, or PVC.
The jug holds 64 oz of treatment, which is enough for a 1000 gallon septic tank. If you've got a 500 gallon tank, it will last for two applications. There's a press-and-turn child proof cap for storing the rest safely, and there's also a tamper evident safety seal under the cap. The jug pours well too - no drips ran down the side at all. There's a faint bit of odor, but it doesn't really smell much at all.
