Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replaced a 25 year old Watts R2 regulator on a California Bay Area Home. Configuration on my regulator was a union inlet and a MNPT on the outlet. The older Watts regulator union thread diameter is slightly different and did require replacing with the new supplied union. (I've seem this before; sometime in the past, the industry change the major diameter of the male threads). The length was very close to the older Watts and did not require cutting and soldering fittings. I was able to easily dig down less than a foot to the horizontal run of the supply line which allowed enough movement of the inlet connection to thread the regulator to the outlet leading into the house. I am a do-it -yourself-er and with decent plumbing skills and it took me about an hour. The only concern i had is the none metal cover for the pressure adjustment spring. Not sure how that is going to hold up in the years to come; thus the 4 out of 5 rating for quality and value. July 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well, especially replacing a same-size regulator My 30-year-old Wilkins Model 70 regulator was leaking a stream. Unlike the other 1" Wilkins valves at Home Depot, this one is the same length so it fit in without new piping, Also, the input copper pipe is a sweat fitting to the union; I was able to keep the existing union input and nut so I did not need to add a sweat-to-Male Pipe threaded fitting. I used silicone plumber's grease liberally so If I need to adjust something it is apt to come apart. For example, I needed to remove the adjustment bolt to screw the regulator onto the existing output pipe and coated the galvanized steel bolt before reinstalling it. I will note that the nut inside the housing is also galvanized (the bolt in my old valve worked but some threads were eroded), but the adjustment bolt locknut is stainless steel. Overall this regulator appears well made. I'll see how well the plastic (composite) outer housing lasts, but I hope essentially forever. August 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works and constructed well, but a bit pricey Worked well and installation was simple. It dropped right in place (replacing an older worn out Wilkins regulator. I measured the PSI after installation and it was set to 50 as described. April 28, 2012
