It has only been 3 weeks since I had the unit installed and we love it. Even on the hottest days (96 degrees) it has kept the shed cool and comfortable, while we continue to prep the shed as an added recreational space.

works great!
Very happy with this unit. High 20.5 SEER makes it efficient. Both indoor and outdoor units are very quiet. Hardest part of the installation was putting in the UVC strip accessory. I also used the Pioneer linset cover set. Finished the job nicely

Unit comes well packaged. The instructions are a little sketchy, but doable. I had to add a condensate pump due to my install location. Wi-Fi should be standard, but the Wi-Fi modules are out of stock everywhere. Cools wonderfully. Wish there was a service port on the high side. Wish they used 1/4 flare for the low service port like the rest of the world. Had to buy a 5/16 to 1/4 flare adapter to add some 410 since I used a 25’ line set. Makes our bedroom super cold:)

    Super Quiet
I bought this unit to cool our master bedroom. I am a light sleeper and this is super quiet on standard low fan mode, it has a quiet mode that is almost silent. Instructions were straight forward and easy to follow. I am very happy with this 9,000 BTU mini split and will be installing an 18,000 BTU in the dining/living room as well. It will be another Pioneer.

      Relatively easy install for DIYer.
I'm a DIYer and this install didn't seem overly difficult and was not. The installation instructions are thorough and easily followed. Hanging the inside unit requires planning and forethought as you can hide the hole or have it extend beyond the inside unit. I hid the hole for the lines so attaching the lines and making the necessary bend took a little extra time. I hung the outside unit and shortened the lines for a clean professional look. The unit has been in operation a few weeks and has worked great.

        Tiny remote letters.
Love the unit but can't read the tiny remote selections. How about a better remote.

          Good system for the money
Easy install, works very well and very quiet, only issue is the line set is cheap. High side line leaked at both ends, had to cut and re flair and line cracked after flailing. Once shortened a second time on 1 end the system vacuumed down and held vacuum.

P1 and E1 error codes after 2 years.
Operated perfectly up until this past Monday. Unit no longer cools to desired setting. A tech from A.B. May came out and found that the unit had a singed system board. $800 just for the board. May also need freon.

Great performing and quiet unit. Temp control could be a little less lazy.
I DIY installed this one. It was overall pretty straightforward but it definitely is a more advanced skill level. I have a background in automotive a/c so I own a vacuum pump and understood what to do. I also had to reflare the lines because on the indoor unit side, the lengths are uneven so you don't have both connections at the same place, which makes sense because it would make it hard to stuff into a lineset cover if they were both at the same spot. The problem is that the lineset was backwards from the lines coming from the air handler. For example, the air handler had a short suction line and a long discharge line. The lineset should have a long suction line and a short discharge line so everything meets up. Well the lineset had the long discharge line so the suction line wouldn't meet. That was dumb, but fortunately I have the correct flaring tool so I was able to correct it. Also took a few feet off the other side for the condenser unit since I didn't need quite 16 ft and didn't want to do something like coil the line behind the unit. As far as performance. It's fantastic. I installed it in early spring and we had some chilly days so I actually got to use the heating function first. It heats well but we're talking about days in the high 30's/ low 40's. One word of note is that for the heating function. you kinda have to use the follow-me function on the remote because without it, it senses indoor temp from the air intake at the top of the unit. Hot air rises. See the problem? The heat it's producing rises to the top of the room and makes it think the room is warmer than it is, ending the heating cycle before the actual room is heated. For cooling we've had a few days in the 90's already and it has absolutely no issue cooling my entire 800sqft first floor without breaking a sweat. There is one issue that is somewhat annoying, in that it either overcools or undercools depending on what it feels like. Usually by 2 degrees. If I have it set to 77F, it will allow cooling to as low as 75F (even with follow me enabled). Or sometimes if it's satisfied and it turns the compressor off it will sometimes let the temp get as high as 79F before it starts cooling again. This 4F swing may not seem like a lot but I can definitely feel it. The unit knows what the temp is because this is what its reporting via it's own app. I have a Midea (yes this Pioneer unit is manufactured by Midea. Everything is) inverter window-ac which is very similar in operation to this mini split and it does the exact same thing. This is just how they have their temperature controlled strategy programmed. A few more notes for the nerdy or anyone deep into home automation. There is an optional wifi dongle available for it for control through the Midea app. I actually already had two of these dongles because 2 other window a/c's I have came with them (also both manufactured by Midea). They're OSK103 dongles. I plugged it into the Pioneer and it works. Here's where it gets interesting. Despite what it looks like it's not a USB stick rather it's a serial UART connection. There's an open source project that allows you to use a software package called ESPHome on ESP8266/32 wifi microcontrollers that allow you to bypass the Midea app altogether and use it in Home Assistant. I tried it and it actually works great. Through some automation programming I should be able to work around the above mentioned temp control issues by shutting the unit off if it starts acting dumb and overcooling the room.

This is an amazing mini split, and the price is fantastic. If you have a little DIY abilities, just watch a video setup and thoroughly read the instructions and you should be good to go. Make sure you pick up a vacuum pump and manifold. One thing I wish I purchased was a pipe bender, I used the coil springs and it was a lot of work. Also, grab a disconnect box, and a AC pad.

I installed this unit this summer in my garage. It is roughly 1000sqf and it cools it very well even in the 100 degree heat. Now that temperatures are dropping, I’m able to keep an ambient temperature at all times. Very quiet, and easy to install. I did have to hire an electrician do the electrical portion. Very pleased with it so far.

The unit is extremely quiet and seems efficient. While the directions are a little lacking, the installation is relatively straightforward. The only reason I didn't give it five stars, is in comparison to the 3rd generation Mr Cool in our garage the Mr cool has more features and the installation kit a little nicer. I would buy this again.

Installed a month ago by myself in an area above the garage in our house that gets very hot due to solar heating in the sunny Colorado summer. Previously we had both a window ac and a floor ac units which were loud and cumbersome and less effective. This mini split is almost silent and keeps the 600 sq foot area very comfortable. I have been keeping in set on 75, fan set on AUTO and it rarely runs above the lowest fan setting to keep the area cool in the 90* degree temps we've been having lately. Installation is straight forward, care is required in working with the copper lines and a small vacuum pump is required to evacuate the lines once connected, but the condenser unit is precharged with all the refrigerant needed. I added a conduit kit to cover the exterior lines. Everything else required was included in the kit, well packaged and instructions are pretty thorough. The folks at our local Home Depot are very helpful and knowledgable here in Boulder Colorado.

Runs way quite than any window units I've owned.. Easier to install than expected. I was nervous about opening the ports letting the coolant into the line and it leaking out, but it was fine. Only issue was the installing of the diconnect using 3/4 " flex conduit and the unit only accepted 1/2 ". I am planning on buying a 24k or bigger for larger room with a loft.

I could not be happier with this system. I purchased it for my garage that gets extremely hot since the afternoon/evening sun beats down on it. I am happy to say this sized system makes quick work of making it nice and cool in there! You can find BTU calculators online, but I would recommend getting the bigger size system if you are in between sizes, the way I was. The install was easy enough to do by myself, but having a second person to help putting the lines through the wall and mounting the head unit would have made it way easier. I did hire a HVAC guy to do all the final refrigerant stuff. Doing that part yourself voids the warranty. Here is my setup: 24,000 BTU Pioneer Mini Split Southern California (triple digits in the summer) 500 Square foot garage (poor insulation)

Fantastic air! Works like a charm effortlessly. Can barely hear it, it's barely a whisper. It was for our garage as summers here are anywhere from 105° to 120° and you can't even walk in your garage. Well now I can and will ne able to work out here as well. Money well spent and would do it again!
