The most common reason a lawn does not respond to fertilizer is soil pH Soil pH must be between 5.5-7.5 for fertilizer to be absorbed by the grass. We recommend performing a soil pH test. If the lawn isn't receiving at least 1 inch of water per week then the lawn will not green up as fast. When mowing do not remove more than 1/3 of the grass blade at a time. A stressed lawn will not green up with the application of a fertilizer.
