Can I rent a van?
Stop by the Rental Center at your nearest Home Depot to see what's available. If you'd like to be sure of what's in stock, call first to inquire about renting a Load 'N Go flatbed truck, pickup truck, or cargo van. Penske moving truck rentals and moving vans have different rules. You could also read our truck rental page to see if the vehicle you need is in stock at your store.
Can I rent a truck for a week?
Rent a moving van or truck for as long as you need it. For short trips, 75 minutes may be plenty. Otherwise, consider renting it by the day or the week, depending on how long your project is. Be sure to factor in the drive to and from the store, as you must bring it back to the same store you rented it from. Penske moving truck rentals allow round-trip options as well as one-way options, and they have different terms. Be sure to read the documentation before selecting a truck.
Do I need to refill the rental truck with gas?
Yes, please fuel up the truck before you bring it back. Make a note of the fuel level when you receive the truck, and be sure to fill it with enough gas to match that level. When you don't refill the truck, you'll be hit with a penalty known as the fuel replacement charge.
Can I rent a truck with only a driver's license?
No, you must hold a valid driver's license and be over the age of 21. Depending on your state, you might require car insurance, as well as a credit card hold or a deposit, too. Please bring your credit card for Home Depot truck rentals, as we don't accept cash. Penske moving truck rentals have different requirements.
