Tool Rentals

The Home Depot's well-stocked tool rental department has everything you need to get the job done right. With rental centers available in most of our stores nationwide, equipment rental is easy and convenient. We offer competitive prices and have several different day rate options for all of our tool rental services.

Tools are rented on a “first come, first served” basis. Call your local Home Depot or click on individual products for information on rates and availability. Our rental centers are open seven days a week and have the same hours of operation as the store they’re located in.

Tool Rental Requirements
To rent power tools and equipment, you must be at least 18 years old and have an official form of ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, military ID card or Mexican CID). You’ll also need a credit card to cover the tool rental deposit -- credit cards are the only form of deposit we take for rental equipment.

Renting tools from The Home Depot has many advantages. You don’t have to store or maintain them; when your project is done, you can simply bring them back. Rental equipment is great for seasonal or occasional use. If you need a power tool, like a floor sander, for a yearly project or a pressure washer rental for seasonal cleanups, renting is perfect. Whether you’re tailgating and looking for a generator rental, or landscaping and need a rototiller rental, we've got professional equipment to help get the job done.

Tool Rental Quality
Every time a tool is rented out from a Tool Rental Center, we make sure it’s in top shape. Our tool rentals are always high quality because we buy new tools for you to rent, then cycle the used ones out for purchase while they’re still in good working condition. All used rental equipment for sale is serviced between rentals, tested and inspected prior to being placed on sale and sold “as-is.”

We also have truck rentals, so you can transport large items safely, without damaging your own vehicle. Several different truck styles are available, so no matter the size of the job, The Home Depot can help you save money on all your moving and delivery needs.
