how do i know how many panels do i need to close a 4,769 sqft property

Hello Elcallao1, This seems like a nice fence. To determine the number of panels needed, you will need to know in advance how many gates you intended to have. We would recommend a minimum of 2, but 3 always gives you more options for entering/exiting the area, without excess walking to reach a gate that might not be located near the direction that you are going. That being said, there is no matching gate that Home Depot has for this fence panel. You can contact your preferred Home Depot store or go in person to inquire about a special order. While we do not necessarily encourage cutting a fence panel, you will see in the question and answer section of this product's page, that people certainly do adapt panels to make matching gates. That decision is for you. Once you've decided on gates, you can begin the calculations. Panels - To calculate the number of fence panels needed, divide the lineal feet by the panel width (8ft.) As we do not know the gates right now, let's just forget about the gates, and divide the 4,769 linear feet that you need to enclose by 8 ft. This is 59.875 panels, or 60. Posts - Add 1 post per panel plus 1 to end a fence run and 1 for each gate. Again, we do not know how many gates you'll need, but you will need 60 posts for the panels, 1 to end the run, then add in 1 post for each gate, once it's been determined. Adjust the number of panels once you know the gate width, by subtracting the gate widths from the linear footage, then divide by 8. Don't forget your post caps, if you want to give the fence a finished look; that is 1 per post. Lastly, we recommend Internet #204126805, Model #162524, 4 in. x 4 in. x 9 ft. Pressure-Treated Cedar-Tone Moulded Fence Post. There are online fence calculators, if you would prefer a bit more help, that can be found with a keyword search, such as Outdoor Essentials Fence Calculator. Hope this helps you with the project.

Its junk.poorly assembled.also you have to go through a stack of them just to find a couple sections that are not broken, warped or have uneven planks.if you buy this garbage pick up some screws and two by fours to brace the planks because they are not nailed in evenly.home depot should refund every one who bought this

Easy to install, better grade than expected for the price. Only downside is make sure you order 1-2 more panels than you need because when bundled at the store after purchase the end pickets on several panels break and stores do not sell individual replacement pickets for this panel.

This stockade fence was delivered to my home on August 5th. My friend finished installing it on August 26th. It looks great. It meets and exceeds my expectations. Easy install and good quality. I would highly recommend this fence to anyone. I recently had my house painted and the fence added to the overall beauty of the house.

good if you want a fence for approx 2 years
This was installed (a total of 9 sections) in 2011. Its been falling apart since 2013. Ive managed to rig it back together. All sections have boards snapped now. Theyre each missing 2-3. If my dog stands against it, they break. Several of the bottom piece of boardssnapped off. For the last three years ive been battlung the dry rotted wood seperating from the najls and blowjng off the posts. Its currenly laying down in my yard while my dogs crap in the house. We live in ohio. Not puerto rico. The wind shouldnt be an issue
