Mud staining
I bought this house 2 years ago and have replaced two decks and two docks and used about 7 gallons so far, but I have issues. First of all, mud foot prints from dogs or people do NOT come off easily. I have tried the hose, a broom, a power washer and nothing removes the left over stain from the mud. I have had to resort to multiple passes with a mop and pressure. In addition, it does not seem to be beading up the water as I would expect. Only in very few places does the water bead up, in the majority of the places it just lays there and will later show a water mark. I have followed the directions and can't seem to find a solution. Please Help!!!!! This is making me NUTS!

Easy to Use, Beautiful Finish
I have a pine porch and steps that are pushing 10 years. “Painting” them have been on my late father’s “list” since we built them, but it was now or never. I did powerwash, then used Behr 63 cleaner (just to be safe, at least on the stairs). One word of caution: if you can, try to get an in store demo. I used 4 different screens, one of those packets from Behr I picked up last year from HD, and the colour was still very much lighter (and much redder) than I ever woud have expected. It’s more of a light, reddish brown than anything. Thankfully, instead of the compromise colour, it’s barely a shade off what my mother originally wanted (I wanted something very dark—along the Cordova family.) I will admit that while certainly nowhere near Sable, I do like the end result. Just one big thing to note: whether it’s a roller or application pad, USE QUALITY!! You can get away with cheap brushes, buy definitely not a main applicator. Mine claimed to be and fell apart while using it on the covered porch, which had also been properly prepped, sanded in spots just in case, etc. It goes on very easy, clean up is easy, and let’s see if it lasts as long as it says. I’ve never had Behr fail me yet. (The Olympia garbage used on my back deck started to peel in less than 3 years.)

I put the first coat on and 4 hours later, it stormed (not expected). 2 days later, the deck was sticky. So I waited a couple more days and put the 2nd coat on. The next day it was a little sticky but after 49 hours, it's fine. When applying the 2nd coat, I was thinking I would need a 3rd coat because of the overlaps, but after completely drying, they are barely noticeable.
My only complaint would have been that I bought a deck sprayer (with 4 different nozzles) but when I tested this product in it, it would only squirt out and I tried all 4 nozzles. Ended up using a roller. So far, I am very pleased with my Sable color of the semi-transparent stain and sealer. It's only been 2 weeks.

great coverage!
Used this on an old, splitting, pressure treated deck that had been stained two years prior. Amazing coverage! I tried two other brands and was unhappy with both of them ($$$wasted) a sales associate suggested this brand and I’m glad he did. Deck looks brand new and I did minimal prep (only pressure washed and light sanding), painted over existing stain and only needed one coat. Skip the other brands, this one is the way to go!

I used this paint (#SC-135 Sable) for the trim of my deck. Easy to use easy clean up and low odor are some of the positives. I used Behr #SC-146 Cedar for the deck boards. I had to do two coats on with the Cedar. The paint is well worth it if it lasts as advertised.

The product was used on my patio privacy fence. Color was true to the color guide, no strong odor...
The product was used on my patio privacy fence. Color was true to the color guide, no strong odor and covered smoothly. The stain was applied within the last 2 weeks and the more I look at it, the happier I am with my choice!

Color was not mixed correctly so not sable. I only was able to paint with 1 bucket next bucket opened in spring hopes it’s the same mix color even though wrong no best coverage
