Q:Can Castrol diesel oil be used for generators

A:  Castrol always recommends following the guidelines of the original engine manufacturer for the recommended grade and API specific to your application. This information can be found in the owner's manual of the generator or by contacting the manufacturer directly. Castrol GTX Diesel 15W-40 CK-4 is suitable if the generator runs on diesel and calls for a 15W-40 motor oil meeting API CK-4 or prior diesel rating. Castrol GTX Diesel 15W-40 CK-4 is not recommended for use in gasoline applications.

        Castrol GTX for Diesel trucks mixed with Lucas is by far the best lube for any mechanical functions. It does NOT break down under HEAT, as other lubricants do. It allows diesel engines to perform over a million miles before requiring any Major repair. My 1998 Mack CH613 e-427is still on the road. I love this lubricant oil combination. I use it for everything needing protecting from heat, wear and tare.
