Questions & Answers

Can an extension be added to the spray straw.

Asked by Suzy October 24, 2020

Hi, Suzy! Thanks for your question about using Great Stuff™ Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant. No, you should not add any type of extension to the dispensing nozzle. The nozzle gives you control while dispensing the foam, and you need visibility to see where you are spraying the foam. This foam should not be used to fill voids, only small gaps and cracks. The foam may cure more quickly inside an extension and cause a blockage for dispensing. We do not recommend you add an extension of any kind.

Is this product fire proof, wet or dry

Asked by TLP September 24, 2020

Hi, TLP! Thanks for your question about Great Stuff™ Gaps & Cracks Insulating Foam Sealant. Great Stuff™ Insulating Foam Sealant products should not be used around heaters, furnaces, fireplaces, or recessed lighting fixtures where it contacts heat conducting surfaces. Cured foam is combustible and may present a fire hazard if exposed to flame or temperatures above 240F (116°C). This product is flammable during dispensing. Do not smoke or use near open flame. Shut off pilot lights and sources of ignition until tack free.
