With all of the bad reviews on seams pulling apart or pieces lifting.. curious if this product has been modified to prevent this? Seems like a very common thing with this flooring
Asked by: Beth
If you allow the product to acclimate for at least 72 hours and you install the product with a rolling action when seaming the edges together the bond will hold. I have had mine for 5 years and I see no evidence of gaps. Follow the directions.

Can this flooring be installed on a staircase?

Asked by: stama
No. The flooring floats and should not be glued down creating a slipping hazard.

how is this product glued down ?

I'm installing this on a concrete floor. What adhesive do I use ?
Asked by: Dr Fixit
It is NOT glued down. It floats. The tile sections attach to each other, not the floor.

Take Home Sample - Golden Maple Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring - 4 in. x 4 in. is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 103.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great choice for DIY! We did a 10' x 13' basement bedroom a few weeks ago. Went down easily. My husband and I installed it in less than 4 hours. (AND we were still speaking when we were finished.) The flooring is inexpensive--but it doesn't LOOK inexpensive. One has to touch it before one realizes it isn't actual wood. The flooring completely changed the look of the room. It is a great choice for a basement. As to installation-- We didn't score and snap, we used vinyl siding sheers for complicated and long cuts. (Saw that suggested on a you-tube video) The sheers worked MUCH better than the suggested score and snap...though it was a bit hard on the hands. Planning is key--as is working out of a couple different boxes. (Just in case of slightly differing dye lots.) This is our second allure floating vinyl floor--we put the basic oak down in our laundry closet three years ago. Still looks as good as it did the day we installed it. We have a front-load washing machine and it has gotten soaked not once, not twice, but three times. Dried out with no musty smell or problems each time.

We let it acclimate the recommended two days, my husband installed it and said it was as easy as could be. It looks fantastic and it is in a high traffic are with cats constantly running and sliding on it—no scratches or changes in the beautiful shine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks Great! Easy to Install This was my first big diy project and I'm really happy with the end result. I put it down in my laundry room in the basement. The toughest part of the whole job was prying up the old tiles and removing the nasty glue. Using tin snips was a trick I learned watching a YouTube video and they certainly made cuts around the pipes easier. I found the tile wasy to score and snap as long as I used a sharp blade. Knee pads are a must! The Home Depot employee told me to measure carefully first to make sure I didn't end up with a small strip on one side or the other of the floor and that was a very good idea. It's been down about two weeks and so far so good. I'm now looking to put the same product in my kitchen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I hate to give it 3 stars but.... When I put the floor in 2 month ago, I would have given it 5 stars because it looks fantastic. I installed according to directions, including rolling the seams, but in certain areas no matter what I do the seams are lifting up and now after 2 month it's worse than ever. I even put heavy weights on the affected areas with no results. We have a heavy duty gym mat lying in one corner of the basement on top of the floor and even there after rolling up the mat the seams will lift. I don't know what to do now! And like other people mentioned on here, you can see scratch or buff marks from light furniture like chairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Bargain! We needed to put new floorcovering in the entire first floor of our house. We couldn't afford real wood flooring and laminate didn't look so good. We saw this product at Home Depot and decided to use it instead. This vinyl flooring, especially in the Golden Maple finish, looks so much like wood! And it costs so much less. It's an affordable alternative. We put it all down in one day at home. It is so easy to install, too. I am so grateful I found out about Trafficmaster "Allure" flooring. We have had nothing from raves from our visitors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks like wood I was originally planning on a laminate floor but not being handy as I viewed the installation video I thought the project was a little overwhelming for me as a novice. As I walked down the vinyl isle I saw the Allure vinyl plank flooring. I read a review and the person suggested the Golden Maple but stated that he used alot of blades to cut the vinyl. I have a multimaster tool and I have to tell you that even a novice can do this. It looks like wood. It looks fabulous. People think it is a wood floor. It could not be easier or come out more perfect. I highly recommend this flooring even for beginners like me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk-Don't Waste Your Money I am shocked by all of the good reviews for this product! We brought 1000 sq ft. to put down in our living room, family room, and hallway. We put down about 100 sq, ft when I noticed that the floor had several scratches. Despite this, we decided to keep laying the floor. We laid another 150 sq. ft and noticed that any time we moved anything acrossed the floor the object would scratch the floor. A kitchen chair, my son's hot wheel cars, and the wheels from my grandpa's walker all scratched the floor. These were not just small scratches, but you could see exactly where these objects moved acrossed the floor. I called the manufacturer (Halstead) who suggested getting the Allure polish to remove the scratches. We promptly brought the polish and carefully followed the instructions. The polish did absolutely NOTHING to remove the scratches. To make a long story short, in the end we returned the 750 sq. ft of Allure we had not laid down and Home Depot gave us a store credit for the 250 sq. ft of flooring we had laid. Home Depot and Halstead both insisted that this flooring is very resilent, but if you google "Allure Vinyl Plank Flooring Scratches" you will see that our experience is common with this flooring. Everything scratches this flooring! I am thankful that Home Depot made the situation right, but I would never buy Allure again.
