Answer This Question
A: We have used this in our house in many rooms for ceilings, and it is primed white, but after the nails go in and cutting the pieces, we wanted to go over it in white. We love this product and has worked very well in our remodeling of our old house.

Answer This Question
A: I just make sure the plank is securely fastened to surface (nailed in stud and adhesive on back) and then before painted sealed with caulk around edges and nail holes filled so once painted will form a tight seal and barrier.

A: We're remodeling our bathroom of our 2007 built home. These have held up beautifully and in fact I'm getting more to redo that wall since removing a big tub that wasn't done behind. So as far as bathroom humidity goes, it's fine.

A: I do not know of a trick. The edges are too pliable to easily lock together as intended. I prefer the planks that overlap or use 4x8 sheets which can be installed with help. I have used these planks on my ceilings but cut away the under side of the female edge and make a thin overlap. I use brads on each rafter and glue. I also use 2x4x8's to push up each plank until glue can adhere. With help, perhaps these planks could be left in 8' lengths but because I do the install by myself, I only work with 4 foot long planks. Hope this helps.

A: Yes, the best way I found to do it on the pieces that are tight is to take a flat blade screwdriver and run it down the groove on an angle to open it slightly. Works every time. Just be careful to select a screw driver that is not so thick that it breaks the groove.

Answer This Question
A: You have 336 sq. feet of wall, deduct the size of each window, and the size of each door from the total Square feet if you have both in the room, that should give you the total square feet you need if you install it from the floor to the ceiling.

A: No. MDF is not appropriate for a bathroom or any high humidity area. It is not water resilient. Bathroom
ceilings need plastic or plywood. Hope that helps.

Answer This Question
A: We use a great deal of this material, we always strip the ceiling joist with 1x3 inch by 8 foot laths on 12 inch centers Home Depot has this material in stock very inexpensive, it will support the beadboard and give you a good line, it will make the beadboard much easier to install.

A: We use a lot of the planks much easer to handle much quicker to install, and looks better. we do install a lot of this product the MDF and the PVC in our bathrooms, if we install the MDF over head we buy the good instant grab glue in the tube at Home Depot, we also use the inexpensive contractors grade 2-1/2 inch window and door trim to install around the top for a more finished look. we always make sure all the grooves are clean then we fit the planks together before we cut them to size, that make it a lot easer when you are installing them working off a ladder, install one at a time.
