Answer This Question
A: Hello,
Thank you for your interest in Advaning Awnings.
Our awnings can be installed to most of sidings as long as the brackets are securely mounted to the main structural studs. Depending on the thickness of the siding, longer screws are recommended such as 5 inches or longer, so the screws can securely mount the brackets to the studs. A spacer or shim is also recommended adding to the siding, so it provides a flat surface for bracket installation. This can be seen in our user's manuals on our website under the Resource tab > Manuals & Literature > User's Manuals.
We always recommend customers to contact a licensed local contractor to evaluate the installation site for proper installation recommendation.

The Advaning PN Series DA5531-PWS1N was tested by the Intertek Lab to hold up to 200 lbs of weight. The actual weight might be different depending on the mounting sites and local weather. A testing summary is available at Advaning website, under Resources, Manual and Literature.

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in Advaning Awnings.
The recommended vertical clearance space for Advaning PN Series is 10~11 inches if the door is opening outward. The bracket height is about 8~9 inches, and the clearance can be 9 inches if the door is opening inward.
A complete dimension table is available at Advaning website, under Resources, and User's Manual and Literature section. Please see below for a quick link for the door awning dimension table.

Q:Does it connects to a siding wall?

Answer This Question
A: Dear Chris,
Thank you for your interest in our awnings. The DA5531-PWS1N door awning can be mounted to a wall with siding on it, provided there are studs behind the siding. Depending on the type of siding, additional hardware may be needed. It's recommended that you consult with Home Depot or a professional installer to determine the best method to mount your awning.
If you have any additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us again.
Sincerely,
Advaning

Q:What wind speed are the awnings rated to withstand?
by|Jul 28, 2017

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in our awnings. While there is no wind rating, the PN Series is rated to withhold up to 200 lbs of snow, sleet, and rain. It would take quite a bit of wind to damage the awning. I hope this was helpful. If you have additional questions, you can find more information on www.Advaning.com.
Sincerely,
Advaning

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in Advaning Awnings.
The Advaning PN Series should be ok with the wind up to 20~30 miles per hour (less than speed 20 m/s) if the awning is securely mounted to the main structural supports such as wood studs.
Thank you and please feel free to contact us if we can be of further assistance.

Q:When connecting 2 awnings together, is there a way to screw both awnings into the common middle bracket? Seems like the second awnings can't be screwed in, making it less secure...

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your interest in Advaning awnings.
Advaning PN Series allows you to connect multiple units together. The polycarbonate sheet is designed to be secured within the front/back bars and 2 side brackets. Each bracket has grooves on both sides, allowing you to insert a polycarbonate sheet on each side. The 2nd polycarbonate sheet will be inserted into the groove of the shared/common bracket, plus 1 of its own bracket (no screws needed). All brackets are to be mounted to the wall with stainless steel screws provided in the package.
Please see below links for the multiple-unit installation, and Intertek test result for strength.
