A: We purchased these to "dampen" the noise/echo in a kid's playroom. These tiles have served that purpose very well. I'm not sure they would block noise from neighbors. Unless, possibly, if it was sound coming through a particular wall.

Q:Can this product help reduce sump pump noise?
by|Feb 17, 2019
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Hello Eric,
None of our Studiofoam products, including SonoFlat, are intended to stop noise transfer. Depending on the model and configuration, you may be able to rest it on our rubber U-Boats, which would cut down drastically on the structural vibration of the pump. If the pump is in a well that has a cover, you may also consider StopGap, our acoustic sealant. Running a bead around the cover will help reduce noise coming out of the well. If you are interested, your Home Depot representative can help you order those products.

A: Hello Wendy and thank you for choosing Auralex Acoustics!
When it comes to placing panels, we start by placing them on early reflection points directly on the wall. In terms of setting them on top of cabinets, it won't be very effective and you will most likely still have noise issues. We do have temporary and/or portable products that could be used in your space. I have included links to our adhesives and our portable treatment options.

A: I used two (2) squares of 2 inch x2 inch Double-Stick Tape attached to opposite corners. Originally, I was going to use four (4) double stick squares. But the two (2) squares seem to hold very well.
