A: Hi John, thanks for the question. Yes, our Marquee Paint can be tinted into all of our colors. If the paint is already tinted, it isn't recommended to add any additional tint, because if too much tint is added, it could cause performance issues with the paint. Have a great day! -Ronald

Q:I plan on painting my cabinets with this paint, in a dark grey. I also plan to apply a water-based clear coat to the top, say polycrylic or something you recommend. What sheen should I use? Flat, Satin, Gloss or Semi-Gloss? Thanks in advance!

Answer This Question
A: Hi JoeM, thank you for your question. Typically, cabinets are done with high sheens for the best protection, durability, and scrubbability. You can use a semi-gloss finish and that will dry to a hard and glossy finish, so a topcoat would not be necessary. However, you have the option of using a water-based polyurethane if you'd like. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

A: Hi there, thank you for reaching out. As it turns out, we do not recommend our products for foam surfaces, as this can lead to issues with the performance, durability, and lifespan of the coating. I recommend reaching out to your local Home Depot for more information about an alternative product that will work for your project. -Lina

Q:I have about half container of this paint which is now very thick. What thinner can I use with this paint?
by|Dec 16, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Hi Pralay, thank you for your question. The Marquee Paint is water-based, and you can thin with water (up to 8 oz. per gallon) when spraying with an airless sprayer. However, if the paint was stored and it is too thick now, and stirring for a few minutes does not help, then I do not recommend using it anymore or adding water to it. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance. Our customer care team is happy to help! -Giovanna

Q:Do I have to use a primer/ sealer to plaint a wooden table with this paint? if so, which primer/sealer is recommended?
by|Oct 28, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Hi Nora, thanks for your question. Our Marquee paint is self-priming and doesn't require a separate primer. However, keep in mind that this paint only guarantees one-coat coverage when applied over a primed or previously coated surface and tinted to a color from our One-Coat Color Collection. I suggest checking out our Multi-Surface Primer to seal the bare wood if you want to get one-coat coverage from our Marquee paint. Hope this helps! -Christina
