Q:Is there an inlet and outlet side of the valve, of does the direction of flow matter?

A:  MrFixit, thank you for your question. The direction of the gas flow does matter on Flare x FIP gas ball valves. The inlet on this BrassCraft gas ball Valve is 1/2 In. FIP and connects to the Gas Pipe with 1/2 In. Male Iron Pipe threads. The outlet is 3/8 in. OD Flare and it connects to the gas connector fittings.
