Q:Seems like the reviews have disclosed three serious design flaws. The Dewalt "team" seems to have the VERY SAME response to every 1 and 2 star review ... but do NOT seem to take real action nor do they seem to take the reviewers seriously. Why is that so?

A:  hose connection started leaking and fell off after 2nd use.

A:  I have owned this power washer for almost two years. Its performance is acceptable, providing high pressure for deep cleaning. However, it does have annoying problems for such an expensive machine. The major problem is the water sensor. It does not work properly and frequently prevents cold engine starts. To make matters worse, the sensor is constructed of cheap plastic and is prone to leaks (it's truly a piece of junk!). Fortunately, at least one of the designers was aware of its uselessness and provided an easy electrical bypass. I permanently bypassed mine. The tendency for the sensor to leak is more problematic. Mine occasionally drips water but has not been a serious problem. If the leak gets worse, I will remove it and plumb in another hose connection. I DO like the electric start. Pulling a rope to start has become difficult since I damaged my shoulder. After bypassing the water sensor, my engine always starts immediately at the push of the button. A great and useful feature! Overall, the washer is acceptable after the water sensor is eliminated.

Q:Have you fixed the problems with this unit? I want elec start but this seems to be the only unit that offers this. I would prefer the pro edition as I have one if those units at my business. Really would the Honda engine but need the elec start.

                A:  No.

                by|Apr 7, 2022

A:  The electric start was necessary for me too. I have a bad shoulder. It works well but the engine is still too difficult to start after it sits a couple of days. The unit that prevents the engine from starting until it senses water in the pressure pump is far too troublesome. I and others have expressed the same complaint. I usually have to bypass the sensor to get it running. Other than the initial annoying starting issue, it has worked well.
