Q:Can I use this to cut concrete pavers?

Answer This Question
A: How thick are the pavers? This comes with the 6” guard I’m sure you could put the masonry blade on here and it would work just fine may use more battery but I can’t see using too much more juice if you have a good blade. Heavy grinding I think uses more power than if your cutting pavers so you shouldn’t have any issue. But don’t run the battery till it completely shuts off I’ve killed some battery’s that way I didn’t instruct people to switch out the battery’s before they shut down completely and if not charged right away they will not recharge. But if still under warranty which I believe is 3yrs on batteries take them to dewalt and they swap them right there

A: Yes, just get the blade specifically for masonry. Works like a charm.

Q:Will this grinder work using a 40 volt battery?

Answer This Question
A: No, the DCG414B is not compatible with the 40V line of batteries.
by|Jun 26, 2019
A: No this is not compatible with a 40 volt battery. Because of the number of tools available in FLEXVOLT 60 Volt battery system, I would switch to 60 volt before investing anymore money in the 40 volt since it is not going to be available much longer, you will still be able to get batteries for the 40 volt, but at a much higher price than the 60 volt battery. Don't worry next year they will come out a 65 volt that will be the best ever!!!

Q:Can this be used to sand adhesive off of a wood floor

Answer This Question
A: Yes, I have frequently removed adhesives on floors using the DEWALT DW8309 4-1/2" x 7/8" 80 Grit Zirconia Angle Grinder Flap. It’s a quick and effective way to remove adhesives on the floor. Make sure to wear a mask and protective eye wear.

A: The short answer is yes. This tool has a good amount of power and will grind, sand, or cut wherever you need. However, it will only accommodate a 4” wheel/ cup/ disk, so if you have a large floor area you would be better off with a floor sander and some 10 grit sandpaper. It will adequately power a diamond grinding cup and chew through a cement slab without bogging down. DeWalt also sells a shroud that you can attach to a shop vac to make grinding and sanding a much less messy affair.

A: It can, but I wouldn't use it for that because of the risk of damaging the wood. I would probably try using an oscillating tool with a scraper blade first. Your risk of damaging the wood and creating hazardous dust would be much less than using a grinder or sander.
