A:  Hi Teach, Thank you for your question! The primary difference between these models is the design. All of our products are built to last and come with a Lifetime Warranty on parts and finish. The will not have DST or PEX technology. Both models will have a metallic spout, handles, and base plate. Both models have brass valve bodies and threaded supply shanks, and stem units with a stainless steel plate and a rubber seat. The 2497LF is 5.35 lb, and the 21988LF is 4.5 lb. Delta Faucet model # 2497LF-AR has a quick connect connection at the end of the hose nearer to the faucet end of the connection that can be removed to drain the water out of the hose. You will need to pinch the sides of the connection and then push up and pull down to remove the quick connect. Thanks. Jody

A:  Hi Kathy, The deck plate or escutcheon as you call it is not optional. You need to purchase a faucet designed for a one or more hole application. These faucets are designed for multiple installation options and spacing. Mike

A:  Hi Christine, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 2497LF-AR has aerator that is metric and mesures 21.5 X1-6G. We do offer an adapter that will convert it to a 55/64" aerator with model # RP51505. If your dishwasher will fit this, then you can use it. Thanks. Jody

A:  Hi Ziggy, Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 2497LF has a cache or hidden aerator. If you are going to add an after-market filter to this faucet, you will need to purchase an adapter to make the thread size 55/64". The model number is RP51505 and can be purchased from your local associate. If the water filter will fit the 55/64" thread size, you can use it. Thanks. Jody

A:  The faucet is metal but the sprayer is plastic.

A:  Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 2497LF is made of a low lead brass. The sprayer is made of a non-metallic material but they are both very sturdy.
