We recommend the cabinet be 3" larger than the sink, to take into account the cabinet wall thickness, to allow enough room inside the cabinet for ease of installation.

This is a sink only, so any pipes (drain or faucet water connections) would be determined by the drain or faucet you're installing and the drain and water lines installed in your building. The faucet connections will vary based on manufacture and model, but most standard 3-1/2" drains in most cases use a 1-1/2" tailpiece for attaching the drain pipe.
