Q:what about the weight of a person who is 150 lbs. It shows 80 lb Load Rating. Kindly comment on wt Load difference of the chair with person

Answer This Question
A: Hello Gulam, this is a common question. Your total load rating depends on how many casters you are spreading the load across. For example, if you have an office chair with 5 legs, then 5 of these casters can handle a 400lb distributed load (80lbs x 5 = 400lbs).

Q:As a replacement for a plastic swivel, do you have a model that has a 7/8" diameter shaft or an adapter that will add to the offered shaft so that the caster will slide into the chair hole?

A: It would be impossible for them to be plastic. It wouldn't be sturdy enough. They are steel painted gold colored.

A: Hello ken,
Thank you for the inquiry about the Sleeve For Caster. I think the best advice may be to check with the Hardware Department in your local Home Depot store. You may be able to find the caster sleeves there. The Home Depot store carries items that are not offered online and there are items online that are not carried in the Home Depot store. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

A: The wheel itself is a ball a little bigger than a golf ball. It feels like rubber but I believe that it is plastic. It is very smooth rolling. They also make a wheel that is shaped like a shopping cart wheel and is made out of rubber.

A: no, this is a very smooth design and the only way it would scratch the floor is if it was worn out or the mounting of the wheel failed. great design.

Q:When it says 80lb per, with 4 on a office chair, it can take up to 320 lbs., right?
Thank you of course

Answer This Question
A: Not quite. Whenever you lean any direction in the chair, it will put more load on the wheels under the direction you are leaning, more the further you lean.
I would conservatively derate them to 250lbs total per chair for that reason, and if your chair itself was formerly capable of more than that due to a limit other than the casters, yet you were putting more than 250 lbs of load on the chair, this seems like it could be why the old casters have failed, that you need a more heavy duty chair that takes heavier casters.

Q:how long is the stem
by|Jan 9, 2017

Answer This Question
A: It clearly states on the page under "Product Overview":
"Installs easily with a 5/16 in. x 1-1/2 in. stem"
The stem is 1-1/2" long. They do make a different product with a 2" ball, and a 3/8" diameter stem that is 1" long but it has a retention clip at the top rather than a tapered friction fit retention.
