A: I use these as a soil amendment and as mulch around moisture sensitive plants like agave. They work great. As far as I can tell these are just pure fine ground lava rock.

Answer This Question
A: Hello James, our pallets have a dimension of 48x40, and we typically ship an order that weighs more than 600lbs on a pallet. Unfortunately, we do not sell this product on a pallet, but we sell 1 pallet of 3/8 in. which comes up to 599.99. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Southwest-Boulder-Stone-17-cu-ft-3-8-in-Black-Lava-Bulk-Landscape-Rock-and-Pebble-for-Gardening-Landscaping-Driveways-and-Walkways-02-0098/312642185

A: I use the red lava rock in multiple freshwater tanks for shrimp breeding as decor only not as a substrate., I keep one community tank that has corys whose barbs and mouth that might get injured by how rough the lava is.

A: Hello Bridgett, you are able to use this product in a fish tank. Lava rock works much like gravel in fish tanks as a healthy home for beneficial bacteria. Lava rock can help provide a welcoming environment for the healthy de-nitrifying bacteria colonies that remove nitrates from your water. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact us.

A: I wouldn’t suggest using them in a wood burning fire pit as the ashes would quickly cover them and create quite a mess.
