          Q:How is this refrigerator ventilated?
          by|Nov 21, 2023
          1 Answer
          Answer This Question

A:  Hi - thanks for reaching out! It is normal for warm or hot air to emit from the bottom, sides or rear of refrigerators. This is the normal operation for models with fan-cooled condensers (all auto defrost models). -- No additional ventilation is required, besides ensuring that the refrigerator is installed with proper air clearances to allow air to circulate easily around the refrigerator, and especially around the condenser. The more air that circulates around the refrigerator, the better the cooling, and the more consistent the internal temperature will be. This means the refrigerator has to work less hard to keep cool, which saves you money. To learn more about installation location and clearances, see page 25 of the manual: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/40/400bc009-21a6-4ee6-a668-2651b8437582.pdf -- We hope this is informative and please reach out anytime with additional questions. All the best! Lauren@GEAppliances
