Q:Do you have lights with pull chains
by|Dec 20, 2022

Answer This Question

A:  If you are changing out light fixtures the electrical boxes are the same no matter if your fixture is a pull chain or not. I installed this fixture where a dining fixture was, it didn’t have a pull chain. This fixture does not have a pull chain. I’m assuming you don’t have a wall switch. In that case you would have to wire a wall switch or replace with a pull chain fixture. Hope this helped.

A:  This version of the light did not come with a pull chain. As to whether or not a pull chain option is offered by the manufacturer, I do not know. I use this light in my small laundry room and it illuminates the space much better than the non-LED light that was there before.

A:  The fixture itself did not have a dimmer. I installed this in a bathroom that I felt needed more light. It lights up that bathroom really well.

A:  There's no dimmer included. It's dimmable if you have a dimmer switch already installed.

A:  To be honest I didn’t put this on a dimmer switch but when I usually buy the Hampton bay dimmable fixtures. I use the Lutron dimmer toggle switches and have always had great results they sell them as well for a decent price compared to Lowes

A:  I don't have an answer but I have the same problem. It just started getting dimmer & dimmer until it hardly works now. It has only lasted for 3, almost 4 yrs. The light cost me about $50 or more. I got two of them & one just quit working. Slightly different but both are the large LEDs. I loved it while it worked, best light I have ever had in my kitchen. Both were bought from Home Depot.

A:  Based on your description, I would say that the LEDs are malfunctioning. Having the light for 5 years is a long time for this kind of light. Now, why did the light malfunction... should be the next question to tackle...of the top of my head I would suggest looking into the on and off switch that works the light, it may need to be replaced, the wiring to that switch are getting too hot for the switch (i.e. a 15 amp switch wired into a 20 amp supply line), the other side of that would be the switch is allowing an inconsistent electric flow to the light (i.e. spikes in the electric circuit the switch is wired into). Other considerations to think about is you've got too much electric draw for the circuit (i.e. too many applications wired to that circuit), a common problem especially if your house is older or your house wiring needs to be updated - new wires need to be pulled to handle the electrical flow or your circuit box needs to be updated to handle the increased electrical demand... The power supplier may have changed your electrical supply lines to a different grid circuit (i.e. they balance their electric supply so their electrical trunk lines don't get overloaded). Some of these things may have contributed to the burn out of the LEDs... I would start with the light switch first and work outward from there. Of course it could be the light fixture itself needs to be replaced because of wear and tear over the 5 years of usage) Good luck, if you're not comfortable with working with electricity, you may want to hire a licensed and bonded electrician to diagnose the problem...

A:  This light is bright. It's far brighter than standard fluorescent lighting - no comparison.

A:  Lumens are lumens, whether from florescent or led. This lamp puts out 2200 lumens of very diffuse white light. I use it as an overhead kitchen light, and it is insanely bright without causing shadows.

A:  It is much brighter that combination of a 40W and 32W circular tubes for a total of 4500 lumens. So the 2200 rating is something like 6000 lumen florescent tube equivalent, not kidding.

A:  The Hampton Bay Dimmable 20 in. Round White LED Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixture is 2200 limens... it is brighter than the Fluorescent T9 Circline Fixture which uses 2-fluorescent bulbs ( a 22-watt 9" and a 32-watt 12" bulb). The LED fixture is dimmable (fluorescents are not) and has more even lighting with no glare... and uses only 30-watts of power (the equivelaentcy of 150-watts incandescent bulbs).
