Q:Does this 'stick' to the back of my carpet or do I just lay my carpet over it? Seems like it would be better if it stuck to the back of my carpet, so I could move it around as one piece; not two.

A: Pad does not stick to rug but does not allow rug to slide around on hardwood or other smooth surfaces. Works very well!

A: Rug just lays on top of pad. Pretty happy with this non slip. I think the size has an impact on moving/not moving. I have 4 2.5 x 6' rugs that slide a great deal. This does not.

A: It is very thin, so I believe it could be trimmed; not certain about the hemming, though. Our dogs tended to urinate on it, so we replaced it with a heavier runner that we could clean with a rug shampooer.

Thank you for your inquiry. The Sure Grip Beige 8 ft. 6 in. x 11 ft. 4 in. Rug Pad is for all types of hard floors:wood, ceramic tile or linoleum. I would recommend the 8 ft. x 10 ft. Eco-Stay Rug Pad (internet number 204761199) or 8 ft. x 10 ft. Supreme Dual Surface Felted Rug Pad (internet number 203219716), these are both good for carpet and most hard indoor surfaces.
