    A:  Thank you for your question. Yes, this fan is compatible with the Shanahan fan if installed indoors. We would not recommend the remote if the fan is installed outdoors.

      A:  Thank you for your question. YEs, the fan has a reversible motor for year-round comfort. The fan's direction is controlled via the manual reverse switch located at the top of the light kit.

        Q:For those that have installed a universal remote, was it difficult? There seems to be very little room to put the receiver, any tips or tricks to share?

        A:  Thank you for your question. The receiver should fit snugly in the mounting bracket so that it does not move around when the fan is operating which could possibly create a noise issue. The most important thing to note when installing the receiver is that the ball of the downrod must be seated properly in the mounting bracket so that the slot of the ball is seated on the tab on the inner ring of the mounting bracket. If the ball is not seated properly, the available space in the mounting bracket will be decreased.

            A:  Thank you for your question. The light socket is rated for 60-watts maximum. A 100-watt equivalent LED bulbs can be used because it uses much less that 60 actual watts.

                Q:Can you get the glass/dome replaced? We just pIckes up the last one today, went thru assembling/installing and of course last piece the glass has 3 cracks :/

                  A:  Thank you for your question. In general, ceiling fans are required to be installed with a minimum distance of 7 ft from the floor to the blades to ensure safe operation. When installed with the included downrod, the distance from the ceiling to the blades is 10.3 inches, so the minimum ceiling height would be 8ft. Currently, there is not a flush mount version of this fan, but The Home Depot offers a wide variety of flush mount fans.
