Q:I got two of the stackable bins however, they don't stay stacked. I don't know if mine are irregular or not but the top one constantly leans forward or falls off. The bins are barely full and that is because they fall apart. Any suggestions?

Answer This Question

A:  I bought six of them placing three stacked on one and three on the other against my garage wall and they stacked fine. I have various misc stuff in each bin with different weights in each. Make sure you have the top front side BOTTOMS fit into the bottom front side TOP grooves.

A:  I'm not sure why that is happening, I have 3 bins and recently moved and they still stay stacked neatly even when loaded OR practically empty.

A:  Check if the bottom bin is upside down. Each bin should have a raised lip on the bottom.

Q:The description says the bin can hold 100 pounds. if the bins are stacked, does the total weight resting on the bottom bin need to be less that 100, or can each bin hold 100 no matter how high they are stacked?

A:  I have not seen any in the store. There are notches on top so that they will interlock if you want to stack them.

A:  Sterilte told me the same. I built a base for 12x12 drawers. Build a base for husky bins but use good wood not mdf and make sure you add a back too. Use good quality casters. I included a photo.

A:  Maybe you could screw one down to a furniture dolly and then stack or attach more together somehow. I may do it with the few I bought. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Anvil-800-lbs-Capacity-18-in-Wood-Furniture-Dolly-HDWD002/315649433

A:  Hello Justin & Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. It would be possible to install wheels to this item, but that would compromise the structural integrity & weight capacity of the unit. It would void the warranty of the product as purchased. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Q:These are great bins. No complaining.. however we have to use them pretty high up and they have some weight on them. There has to be a way secure them together. I have about 1000 of them, so I need to find a way to make this work

A:  You could use long wire ties to secure them together. They do have holes at the top that you could go from each other and secure in all four corners but it would have to be long wire ties may be 2-3 feet long which I know they make. The black nylon ones would even match the storage bins in color.

A:  Don't know of a way to secure them, and don't see a need to secure them. Just don't tip toward the front when removing items from the bins.

Q:I have these bins down the basement and love them for extra storage. I would like to use them as a back up pantry but have had difficulty because of the uneven bottom in the bins. Any recommendations for ways to stack cans? Any bins with flat bottoms?

A:  I've had some success with just putting a flat piece of press-board in the bottom and stacking on that. Also, I find that stacking them three or four high and putting each stack on a four-wheel furniture dolly allows me to put all the rolling stacks in a corner most of the time and just wheel out what I'm looking for at a given time.

A:  I have the huskey bins as well and I have had no problem stacking 3 of them together,  even sometimes 4 and they have held very well.   Maybe you got an unlucky bin that's not as strong.   Milwaukee has some with lids that stack well

A:  I do not know of an accessory. If you are concerned you can attach industrial Velcro to the base and corner shelves and attach them that way. At the three stack recommended height, they are fairly secure. I have two three-stacks in a play room and have never had a problem. I have a four-stack in a closet for linen storage. I tend to have more problems nesting them than keeping them stacked.

A:  We installed would strips on the wall and screwed them into the wood. They are super secure and hold all the weight I can put in them. I am a glass artist so I store glass and other supplies that are quite heavy in them. Works great!
