A:  Yes. I cut and spliced them and made them the exact length I needed. These are awesome lights although I have only had the 1 year. I have them in 2 of my houses. One thing to watch for is the total length of the run. I bought the bigger transformer so I wouldn't have problems.

A:  If they have a way to splice you could on the tape anyway, don't know about the connectors. I'm still trying to find another power pack so I can use the 20' I have on another project. The parts are hard to find in the store. I didn't see any available online and I don't know if the other brands are compatible. There isn't much information out there or on the packages, barely any instructions. I know this isn't much help but I'm no electrician, not even close. I managed my first project but haven't been able to get another done for lack of parts.

A:  Yes, i needed to go from one set of cabinets to the set on the opposite wall. I used telephone wire that is used for land lines. It's 4 wire which is fine. To make sure i kept polarity right i used the black wire to the CE weir with the black strip and the yellow on the other. At the hardware store I got connectors that are are press thorougher. The hardware stores have a good selection of phone line parts unlike Home Depot. I went from the bottom of the wall cabinet(s) up through the cabinet into the ceiling and through the attic area and back down into the opposite set of cabinets. It would be great if CE made extra parts or at least information on what can be done to alter the installation. Most kitchens have more then one area that need lighting. We really like the lighting and think if they find a way to educate the DIY'er they would be selling the heck out of these.

A:  Yes, they can be cut and spliced.

A:  Yes. Just make sure the reconnections are tightly secured

A:  I cant say for sure, but I think if you split a line it will do the same to the voltage and will either cause the light strips to be dimmer or might not even light. When I did mine, I planned so that the transformer was at one end of the light strip and when I did have longer spaces in between cabinets, I cut and soldered the connectors for exact length. One thing to watch for is that there is a length limit listed and sometimes the bigger transformer is needed. Hope this helps!

A:  Looks right to me. I used the longer tape light that came in a roll. I think they were available in 2 different lengths. maybe 12' and 18' but not sure. Connectors worked good but i cut them and soldered longer wires in them to get the exact length I needed. Used on both of my houses and really like them!

A:  No, they are not compatible. The tape light kit in question uses sections. You would have to order additional sections to add on to it. The connectors you reference are for the roll of tape light that you can cut and reconnect.
