A: Yes, but why do you want to do that? I am sure it will grind the feathers and beak too. It might have a problem grinding the clucking of a live chicken.

A: Seems like it is stainless steel with some sturdy plastic parts. All the grinder plates, blade and housing all look like stainless steel. The auger is a plastic piece as is the plunger, but they appear very sturdy.
