Q:Is the seat nice and firm and is the back straight?

A:  Yes the seat is nice and the back is straight, however the wing side wiggle as though they are not secured very well.

    A:  Yes the seat is firm and the back is straight up and when the footstool portion is out and up the person still stays seated upright not reclined way back which is helpful for the elderly and those with breathing issues.
