A: Hello West, thank you for your inquiry. The PD-6WCL is a single-pole control, but you can use it in 3- or 4-way applications together with Lutron Pico remotes (PJ2-3BRL-GWH-L01) and Pico wallbox adapters (PICO-WBX-ADAPT). Please use the following link for details on how to set this up:

A: For smart control with the PD-6WCL—including scenes, scheduling, geo-fencing, control from your phone, and more— you will need the Caséta smart bridge. Once you have the smart bridge, the device can be added to your system. The smart bridge has a 30ft RF radius, meaning all devices must be within this 30ft radius, if any devices are farther, a wireless repeater is necessary (PD-REP-WH).

A: 3-way implementation is pretty easy. I recommend installing the switch where the load wires are connected. Do the tie-up with the wires behind the second switch where you'll put the remote. Be careful to properly identify the wires because these dimmer switches aren't cheap to replace if you short something out :)

Q:Does this work with Apple Home Kit
by|Apr 25, 2022

Answer This Question
A: Hello Joseph, thanks for your question. The Caseta Wireless system works with Apple HomeKit via the Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge. You would just need to connect your Smart Bridge to the Internet via your WiFi router, download the Lutron App, and then set up HomeKit integration. From there, any device on your Lutron App (such as the PD-6WCL-WH-R) will also appear and be able to be used in HomeKit.
A Starter Kit is also available, which includes the Smart Bridge as well as the Smart Lighting Dimmer Switch:

A: Currently, there's no industry standard or regulation for manufacturing LEDs, which is why performance varies with dimming controls. That's why we extensively test a variety of LEDs from many different manufacturers, and offer a mobile-friendly web tool to help you select bulbs that provide the best dimming performance with your Lutron dimmers. To access the tool, please visit lutron.com/ledfinder.

A: Have an electrician recheck the wiring. Your switch sounds like it is "over heating". Check temperature conditions around the switch.
