A:  I wouldn't see an issue with that. It's facing down is merely an appearance issue.

A:  Yes, the only thing is that you'll see the screw that fixes in place , upward.

A:  I bought this a couple of years ago and love it. Both sides of screws are on the UNDERSIDE. Are you sure you are putting the 'swing bar' side of the holder on the LEFT SIDE (facing you) for it then to come down on the other side and REST on the small bar that juts out?? My suspicion is that you have the swing bar on the RIGHT side (facing you)...I do not think it will work that way.

A:  No, not really because the open end of the bar just rests on the other side. If it were placed vertically it would have a tendency to 'flop open' and paper would slide off. Even diagonally would probably not work because when you would go to remove the paper it, again, might have a tendency to 'flop open' and slide off. When installed horizontally it is a beautiful, easy to use and easy to refill holder. (I think when I move I will have to leave 'instructions' how to change the paper as most holders do not just 'lift up'!!) I absolutely love it!

A:  I would not think so. The bar is only held in place by the paper holder bar resting on a notch on the post. There is no mechanical or magnetic device holding it in place. This is not to say you couldn't play around and figure something out, but it sure in not designed to be used vertically.

A:  I don’t think it would work because there’s not a latch. The pole has a groove that just lays down when the toilet paper roll is on. It’s just gravity holding it in place. I hope this helps.

A:  Sorry to hear this about your towel ring. I think you might have to drill out the old screw with a small metal drill bit. The problem is, it's probably going to ruin the towel ring. This is the only solution I can think of.

A:  i don't believe you can since the swinging bar that holds the tissue rests ON TOP of the other end. I guess if you are creative you could extend the notch that the swinging bar rests on by adding something to extend it, but you probably would detract from the lovely design of it! I would just make additional holes, and patch the mistaken holes. They might even be covered by the plate when you put it on. I absolutely love this holder !!!!!!!

A:  If your mounting to drywall you will have problems with drywall anchors eventually failing. I always use 1" x 4" poplar that is 2" longer than outside dimension of paper holder and lightly sand outside edges poplar. I then find the closest stud to where I want to mount paper holder that I then level, nail and glue poplar with urethane glue to wall. Spackle nail holes in poplar and paint poplar color of door into bathroom. Use template to locate attachment holes for paper holder. Mark attachment hole locations with a nail or center punch through template. Mount paper holder to poplar and you are done.

A:  This was installed by our contractor so I’m not entirely sure, but it doesn’t appear that this could be done. I would suggest contacting Moen.

A:  Hello Rick, Expect the hardware to extend past the drywall by about 1/2" - 3/4". If I recall correctly the screws included with the hardware are about 1 1/2" long and included anchors.
