A:  Hi Wyldbee, thank you for your question. The legs adjust in set increments, but can be adjusted independently on each legs.

A:  It would depend on the height of a step whether this would be level with the legs adjusted at different lengths. Seems like it would work as well as being on the ground if level as a platform. You know, they may not recommend it, just like they say not to stand on top of a step ladder (not that the ladder isn't sturdy enough, but you have to be careful).

A:  I don't think it would work on stairs. The leg only goes down 11" and one step is typically 8" so even if one end were on the floor fully extended and the other end were only two steps up (16") fully retracted, the platform would be sloping 5" (16" - 11") Maybe if you wanted to get crazy and set one end with each leg sitting on a couple concrete blocks stacked, two for one leg, two for the other, and extend the leg 8", you could cover three steps. If you're setting it up, say, half-way up a long stairway, you'd be spanning about five steps, assuming a 10" wide tread. Let's say five x 8" steps = 40" of rise. Now you'd have to stack four blocks to get you 32" and extend the leg another 8" to get your 40" When retracted the legs are 43" apart, and when extended they are 51" apart end-to-end. So I'm guessing when one end is extended and the other is retracted, the legs would be about 47" apart, which would be about five steps. It sounds possible, but it would scare me.

A:  I think will be fine...I've been a Little Giant user my whole life, this product right up there with the same quality...

A:  24 inches high will adjust up to 36 high.. also makes a nice sturdy work bench fully opened 36 inches...

A:  Each leg of the platform expands or contracts in length individually with a few preset pin positions, so it can be placed on uneven surfaces to some extent, and yes this means it expands in height (that's the adjustable dimension of the platform).

A:  This is the problem with selling different product variations on the same page. It creates confusion on the questions and in the reviews regarding which version is being talked about. For example, on this page there are currently 3 different work platform versions being sold. 1 is adjustable and 2 are not. Home Depot needs to either stop selling multiple items on the same page OR make customers select which one they are asking about / reviewing so it's clear to everyone which version is being discussed. So, the answer is... it depends! If you want one that expands in height, look for the one that currently says "Adjustable" in the product title. It's disappointing that I (a customer) had to explain this rather than the official "Metaltech Specialist" who answered previously.
