A:  The gate opener will swing in whatever direction you want. You would typically mount the opener on the side that you want the gate to swing. In your case it would be on the exterior of your property. All the controls and battery etc. would still be installed on the inside of your fencing.

A:  The opener will definitely handle that size gate. I have a fairly heavy gate across my driveway, roughly 8 or 9 ft wide and the opener doesn't have any trouble with it. The opener is a bit slow for my gate, it could take 5-10 seconds to open that size gate.

A:  I had significant problems with my gate opener, and had to ship it back to the factory under a warranty claim. It took months and many calls and threats to get mighty mule to do anything. They finally sent a replacement and it has been working dependably for a couple years. I would never buy another mighty mule product, and if you can take yours back for a refund, I would recommend that you do so.

A:  The place on the gate where it attaches is with a pin with a hole through it, has similar to a cotter key in it...easy to pull out and open gate.
