A:  I've had it outside for a month in LOTS of rain and cold. Does not wash off.

A:  It can be used outside, but an old steel cannon sounds like something that is rusty. If not visible rust, rust under a coat of paint. It obviously won't hold up any better that the substrate below it. Also you are paint copper over steel. Everything needs to be primed real well or you'll have a galvanic reaction between the steel and the copper in the paint. If finish wouldn't last long if there is a breach in the primer.

A:  You waited to long to put the activator on. Have to sand or remove back down and start over. Do not try putting more copper paint on, it will not work.

A:  Did you apply the patina solution while the copper paint was still wet?

A:  I wouldn't use it there, it doesn't wear well.

A:  It can really be used on anything as long as the primer can adhere. I imagine you would want to then cover the surface with a sealant, particularly if food will be placed on it.

A:  No, not if there is heat. The primer would melt.

A:  I wouldn't use it near heat or flames.
