Answer This Question

A:  about 6 inches long and 5/8 wide. Bottom piece is above near the 2 bigger screws. This piece also has a slot to insert the little level. Put in one screw and then use level to aline for second screw. Just need to make sure you put the bracket on the back of the frame level as well. I will be buying more of these.

A:  The part with the "level" goes on the wall. The part that attaches to your "hangable item" is 1/2 inch wide where the holes are. Before it was bent, I'd say it was 1-1/4 inch wide overall. All the holes are 1 inch apart. On the wall piece, I'd say the holes AND the "level slots" are in the same 3/4 in wide section. I only needed one of the 2 pieces. I cut and attached the "wall" piece on the wall (the item I was hanging already had a "lip" on it)....so the other I still have intact. My pick shows the complete larger "item" piece, it has a 1/4 inch angle, and the other (I can't believe I saved them), shows the channel the LEVEL slides into....but its bent a little because I needed it to be that way before I cut it. I would say it HAD the same angle as the "item" piece originally so they fit hand-in-glove. Hope that helps...picture says it better than I. Good luck...it did the trick for me....saved me hours... Regards, Bruce

Q:I would like to hang a mosaic address sign on the outside of a vinyl sided house on a lakeside that has frequent gusty winds. My sign is lightweight; about 5 lbs. Will this hanging hardware secure it so that it won't blow away? The sign is 12" wide x 8" high.

Q:I am unable to drill anything into the mirror. Can you glue the section to the mirror instead of drilling holes?

          Answer This Question

A:  To hang a frameless mirror, I would attach the picture hanger to the back of the mirror with a high-strength two-part epoxy adhesive like Gorilla Epoxy or J-B Weld, both available at The Depot. Make sure you clean the back of the mirror with something like rubbing alcohol for a good bond and let the epoxy set for 24 hours before hanging. Depending on the size of the mirror, you might want to use two hangers, one in each upper corner. I would avoid using a silicone product or a general purpose household adhesive; you want something with real strength.

A:  Dow makes an industrial silicone sealant that is used to attach flat pieces of glass to other flat surfaces such as metal, glass and plexiglass. It does not yellow or deteriorate in outdoor conditions. it can be used to attach this cleat to glass. Many glass artists use systems like this to mount their work since they cannot hammer or nail their work on a wall. I would use two sets of cleats on upper and lower part of mirror.
