A: Thank you for your interest in Root Pouch products.
For self watering pots you will need to use one of our fabrics with natural fibers so that the water can be absorbed into the fabric thus watering the roots of your plant.
You can use either our black or grey lines. they both have natural fibers mixed with the recycled water bottles.
hope that helps

Q:Can the pouches draw up water from the bottom? I seems most fabric pots dry out quickly. Do these retain water so you don?t have to water as often?
by|May 22, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Thank you for your question.
Our pots do retain water and they also drain much more evenly than a plastic pot so you may need to water less. We have found that you use about 30% less water with our planters

A: Not sure about the 65 gallon one, but I bought the 45 gallon, snd 2 cubic feet would not fill it up. It became very heavy and difficult to move. I use the 15 gallon for one tomato plant and that size is plenty large enough for one plant.

A: Go by quarts on the potting soil bag A 25 gallon pot will take 100 quarts of soil. 4 quarts to a gallon x 25 gallons = 100 quarts. The bags I have seen at HD are 25 quarts per bag so filing up a 25 gallon pot will require 4 bags of 25 quart soil.
