      A:  This distance should still be able to have the shade work, although it will determine some the thickness of walls/glass etc that the remote signal will have to travel through.

                  A:  Thank you for your question. The shades can help a little with privacy, but that's not their main use.  Their main use is for heat reduction. A neighbor will be able to see in a lit room at night.
