A: When the orange center stalk pops up, then you replace the contents.
A: If you have Termite activity you may be replacing them in a month or two, if there are no Termites yet, the rain and damp weather will make them less effective. I would replace them at the beginning of every year if there is no activity.
A: Depends on termite activity in your yard. Mine vary by season, really active— month or two other times 4 months or so
A: It varies. Some stakes I dig up are completely consumed, others are hardly touched. I replace them every 6 months regardless. Costs me about $100 a year which is a whole lot cheaper than a termite exterminator and it's the same thing an exterminator would do.......put in poison bait stakes. I had termites and termite damage in this house about 35 years ago. Initially I had a termite exterminator come in and exterminate them. After that I started using these stakes and we've been termite free ever since.
A: Yes it is ready to use just pick up and follow the simple instructions it just takes minutes

A: Yes it is. I use it as a precautionary measure had termites treated professionally with chemical.
A: Yes bought mine there, simple to use easy to install
A: Absolutely, use the supplied tool and dig hole then put the plastic circle on the tube and put in the hole Really easy to use. When the red circle pops up put new tube in the hole
A: This product is intended to be embedded into the ground (soil). Any other application would likely not be advisable by the manufacturer. Also, there would be safety issues to consider. I would NOT use it any other way than intended!
A: I'll assume apt is on ground level since these get.placed in the ground...but yes they are completely safe and reliable
A: Thank you for your question. Our product is for outdoor use only around the foundation of your home and cannot be used inside.
A: This product is meant to be imbedded in the soil around your house. No, this product can not be used indoors.
A: No
A: The stakes can be placed but no you can not cover them because the pop up lets you know if there is termites activity and you will need to change it out. I hope this answer helps.
A: I suppose you could, although, you'll have to periodically pull up the paver(s) and check the "spring plug" to determine IF the sample in the stake needs to be replaced. It's like the pop-up plug in the turkey to let you know its done cooking.
A: No they are not designed to work that. They work really well but can't be covered.
A: Thank you for your question. The product can only be placed a minimum of 2-3 feet away from the foundation of the home. Please be advised that our product will kill the worker termites only and will not eradicate an existing colony.
A: Since it is a patio You can install the bait traps around the perimeter Of the palio Placing each trap 2ft from the pavers and every 8--10 ft Depending on the size of your patio You would only need a few to do the job they are not after your patio they just like the damp conditions underneath the pavers Although the bait traps will attract them and destroy the colony
A: I think you would put them around the perimeter of the pavers the center pops up when they need to be replaced
A: As a do it yourself user (not a professional or the manufacturer) I see no reason why they could not be covered with a couple of caveats: You would not be able to use the pop-up indicator as it would be trapped and not visible. You must check the stakes at least every three months for indications of termite activity. This would require you to uncover them at those intervals. If you are OK with uncovering them at every inspection, you should be fine if you read and follow the instructions carefully. On the other hand, your problem sounds like a professional opinion would be prudent. I hope this helps!
A: The entire circle fits tight to the ground The green ring can be covered but the RED center can not be, that is what pops up when termites have eaten part of the stuff inside the cylinder. Hope this helps
A: Technically, yes. But if you have Termites in your crawl space then you should have a professional come in and spray.
A: Yes
A: Sure, just remember to crawl back under there and replace them every 6 months.
A: Hi Deno, thank you for the inquiry regarding our Spectracide Terminate Termite Detection and Killing Stakes. The stakes will only be effective when you apply according to the label directions. Using the enclosed auger, dig holes 2 to 3 ft away from the foundation and no more than 10 ft apart . If you have nay further questions please contact us at 1-800-917-5438 or email us at youropinioncounts@spectrumbrands.com so that we may better assist you.
A: Using this product will protect any termites that are in the ground under your foundation and will attract them to the Perimeter of the outside of your foundation for a good feeding they will bring back to the colony. It is also a great idea to pick up a bottle of home defense made by the same company and spray the perimeter of your foundation as an extra form of insurance only needed to do this every 12 months to give you peace of mind and to avoid a nightmare maintaining your property keeping brush away from the foundation cutting your Plants and trees away from the house is also a good idea you wanna eliminate any type of entry they can have that you can't see. Just because you have a clean bill of health now doesn't mean a month from now it can't happen mother nature works in mysterious ways.
A: Great question it is a simple answer Just like you have insurance on your home to protect you in case of peril, You should also protect your home from insects that usually and most insurance policies turn my damage is not covered it is the homeowner's responsibility to maintain and protect the home installing this product is cheap and it's piece of mind and it works should the need be there just remember to follow instructions and replaced then every 12 months for peace of mind.
A: Thank you for your question. We apologize but we would be unable to recommend a product as we are only trained or the products that we manufacture. We do not manufacture a product that will prevent or deter termites from returning to the area. Our product will only notify you of of the presence of termites and kill the worker termites that consume the bait.
A: I have been using these stakes since 2003 (they were actually smaller in those days) without other protection. I did sell that house in 2008. It was professionally inspected and found to be free of termites. The previous owner had used the stakes as well. This is how I learned about them. But, I am not a professional pest control person or inspector. I am just offering my experience. Spectracide does indeed say Killing Stakes2 are not recommended as sole protection against termites. I have chosen not to seek additional protection. You will have to make your own decision.
A: This product lets you know that Termites are active around your house. You can also use Bayer Termite granules and make a barrier around your house to compliment your Termite stakes.
A: You need to find out what type of termites that you have and how serious your problem is. A termite inspector cleared our house. We are using this product for subterranean termites in the yard and it is working.
A: Have house sprayec
A: This product mentions not only source of protection meaning it's serves a purpose It will attract the termites effectively should any arise they will feed and they will bring it to their colony thus destroying it although keeping visual inspections periodically for any mud tunnels going up your foundation or cracks in your foundation inside your home Is the part they are recommending you do Also Home defense spray is also recommended as another form of defense from insects. Also remember it is also your responsibility to avoid the attraction Of insects, by firewood laying near your home.
A: Yea. They highly recommend getting a professional- with them. Seems like the sticks are advertisement for them
A: Thank you for your question. We apologize but we would be unable to recommend a product as we are only trained or the products that we manufacture. A: Yes, These items will work through concrete. Be sure to go through to the dirt underneath. Shelter the item from direct rainfall as too mu h water will soften the interior of the item and a false alert. An 1.25 inch hole is necessary.
A: No ...its for garden or dirt only will not go thru concrete
A: Thank you for your question. No, our product cannot be used in concrete.
A: One of the best product
A: It's better to follow the instructions that came with the product. I have been using this product for over 10 years, and it's been a real war to keep them controlled.
A: Yes works better
A: There not surface breeders. They breed in the soil and invade the home for food that's what I understood and watching the termites home out of the dirt I understood they nest away from the home leave the nest to eat your home.
A: Thank you for your question. Our stakes are designed to detect the presence of the termites and kill the worker termites that consumer the bait. Placing too close to the home will provide less time to notify you of the presence of the termites.
A: I think it's because it will bring the termites to the house
A: Thank you for your question. Our product will kill foraging termites only that access the bait and will not eradicate an existing termite colony. We would recommend contacting a professional.
A: This Product can be a permanent solution. Place each Poison Module in the ground within 12 inches of the House. You will have to replace the infested Shingles.
